Triple H is the GOAT! Reigns should be honored to get to share the ring with him at mania.

HHH is one of the all-time greats

In addition to his huge pop at Madison Square Garden in 2002, HHH also got a big pop when he returned in 2011

I agree with you but stop acting like Meltzer is the god of the wrestling business. His opinion isn't fact

Re: To all Triple H haters....

For me, especially growing up in the AE, Triple H brings back a lot of great memories. At that time I thought he was an amazing heel and had a lot of captivating feuds and matches. So for that I respect him.

As far as his legacy goes, I think he will always have an asterisk next to his accomplishments. Nobody will ever know if he could have achieved all of this on his own or if marrying the boss' daughter opened all the doors for him. Maybe he could have done it solo, but the doubts will always be there.

Re: To all Triple H haters....

Cringe inducing ego aside, I don't hate Triple H. He was a good heel, and he does seem to have a good mind for the business. But he was never the GOAT to me.

Was he a great mic-worker? Yeah, but he was no Rock, imo.

Was he a great wrestler? Yeah, but he was no Shawn Michaels.

Was he a great heel? Yeah, but he was no Hollywood Rock, heel Mick Foley, etc.

Triple H is very good, don't get me wrong. But he's not the greatest of all time.

Re: To all Triple H haters....

Wow.

Nobody is debating his accomplishments or talents.

This week alone I think I've replied to posts by stating he was one of the four key components of launching the AE, placed him easily in the top 20 GOATS, amongst other praise.

I've also called him out for being VP of Creative yet showing zero ounce of creative talent within the last 5 years, and I've also stated my opinion that when the Champ is off TV, it damages the image of the title, no matter who the Champ is.

Triple H is a contradiction. Having opinions on that contradiction is just that, people's opinion. It's hardly other peoples fault that he won 14 titles, is the current Champ, and is pulling the wool over peoples eyes by pretending to love indie darlings when in actual fact he is under instruction to hoover up talent so that other feds can't use them (not conspiracy, just business).

Or I'll give you another analogy. Y2J was my childhood favourite. But the man is also a contradiction. He's a douche. I have no problem admitting he is an un-cool guy whose character and reputation is damaged, and he can't go like he used to. That's just acknowledging the facts at hand.

Re: To all Triple H haters....

It's interesting reading people's opinions on the guy as some believe that he's one of the greatest of all time and others reckon he's not even top 100. He's definitely gone up in my estimations after what he's done with NXT.

I do think it is worrying that he's still put in such big angles in 2016 but, y'know, he's Triple H dammit!

I am not saying he is god of wrestling business but he is arguably the top critic and most certainly unbiased.

Ultimately, marrying the boss' daughter is always going to get you heat and it tarnishes his legacy in the sense that it is difficult for anyone to know the truth of his success. I think that's where the divide really comes.

My thoughts:
  • HHH is a top 5 ever heel
  • Has an amazing mind for the business (dating back to screwjob)
  • Had achieved alot pre-Steph
  • Was an amazing worker pre-injury
  • HHH gets more heat for his personal life than wifebeaters and pillheads.
  • I don't feel "being the guy who works with the top guy" is a legitimate criticism of a wrestler, it's a hugely important role.

Also, I'd edit your OP a bit to make it more readable and more people will reply
thanks for your suggestion. what do you suggest I edit?
