It's entirely different thing for working matches/segment on RAW, where's you must met certain expectation and working under serious pressure from management for not to make a single mistake on Live Television Event.
I can't see where you're coming from on this but I'd really like it if you'd elaborate. Triple H on conference calls often vaguely alludes to how performing on the main roster is a different animal to NXT and outside of taped shows vs live shows, I don't see what the big difference is and feel it's just being used as a cop out to explain why wrestlers are so poorly handled on RAW.

Perhaps for promos there's a notable difference between doing it in front of a small Full Sail crowd and a big arena so that's one. When have they ever had Sasha or Charlotte or Becky or Paige go out to the ring by themselves and simply cut a promo anyway though? On RAW there's usually about two, maybe three people who get promo time and it tends to be *way* too long when it is - those infamous "20 minute Triple H/Seth Rollins" style scripted speeches.

As for matches, I can't see what difference there is between wrestling on a live NXT show and wrestling on a live RAW/PPV. Why would a completely green wrestler find it not too difficult on NXT but not on RAW?

This just proves why RAW is so fucking terrible. They overthink everything they do. WWE should have next RAW figured out by the time the previous RAW is done. Changing shit up until the show starts, no wonder this show is such a cluster fuck.

Re: Charlotte wants to retire the term "Diva" and butterfly title, No eye candy and why NXT matches are better

Charlotte's interviews have been very 'professional' lately, no doubt she's being mentored well by her dad, besides it makes sense the NXT trio of Sasha, Becky & Charlotte would all share the same desire of revamping Divas back to Women's wrestling because in their opinion they're 'changing up' the current Women's MR and believe they are the mechanics behind the 'revolution'.
Best move Charlotte can do with making a stand of changing the Divas title is to kayfabe repeat the Alundra Blayze trashing the title and replace the title creatively making out she rebranded her own title. (Much like Edge, Cena, Rock & Austin had done for them)

Re: Charlotte wants to retire the term "Diva" and butterfly title, No eye candy and why NXT matches are better

The "No eye candy" part of your headline is misleading, OP. This suggests that she's saying she doesn't want there to be eye candy (attractive women) in the women's division, and that's how some people will interpret it. She said "I want longer matches. I want those crossover segments. I want more storylines, [and] just not to be eye candy or popcorn matches"

There's a significant difference there. I get that anyone who reads the whole quote will know this but most people don't, most people read headlines and then maybe glance at the main text. This isn't so much for their benefit as it is to preempt and prevent the disputes from people who enjoy eye candy - eye candy isn't going anywhere, we don't have to choose between sexy and competent.

I haven't read the whole thread yet but I'd be shocked if this argument hadn't already begun!

I would like to see the same direction Charlotte described happen also.
Diva is a contradicting term whether WWE wants a branding term or not.
What is strong and athletic about the term Diva?
When you think Diva you think Mariah Carey etc not women that are pro wrestling for a living.
The division can still have its glamourous women but not every woman needs to look like she fell off the catwalk.
The division needs diversity because that is what life is.
The guys have varied types , the muscle monsters, the leaner high fliers, the handsome, the monsters, the scary, bigger guys, the pure wrestlers, the characters.
So why should the women be defined to one archetype?
There is nothing wrong with simply having a "Women's" division.
A big obstacle in the path of that happening is the nonsense that is Total Divas.
WWE insist on keep on churning out that garbage making their women appear anything but a female wrestler.
That fake garbage has to run its course before the division drops the Diva moniker.
It will run its course in time but who knows when.
WWE fans have always hated the Diva nonsense. I remember back in 2004 when Vince, Laurinaittis and Dunn killed the women's division in favour of the Diva search the fans hated those pathetic segments.
It was a era that saw a legitimate women's wrestling division of Trish , Lita, Molly, Victoria, Jazz, Jacqueline, Ivory and Gail Kim killed off in favour of bringing in garbage like The Bella's, Rosa Mendes, Kelly Kelly etc and literally crap all over what was nicely built to just tear it down.
The fans have never respected that formula and never will hence why it became the famous bathroom break.

Thankfully legitimate women's wrestling and characters are returning and the fans have backed it and expressed it thanks to NXT and the givedivasachance backlash against the terrible main roster division that was turned into a promo for Total Divas and a personal media vehicle for the Bella twins. No one wanted to see that.

The respect would return if we had a Women's division based on good matches and characters.
They have Natalya, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Paige, Becky Lynch, Emma, Asuka, Bayley to make such a division good again.
The potential is there but WWE has to disconnect itself from the crap that is Total Divas and the pandering to a certain pair of twins to do so.

Charlotte appears quite delusional. Female division has been, is and will always always always be irrelevant. Make your money when you can and get lost dumb bitch.

I want Charlotte to lose the belt and disappear because she's the worst 'woman' to ever hold it.

This is one thing that I can agree with her about.

I agree with most of what she's saying here. The term Diva is pretty damn stupid and is used as an insult in every way outside of WWE. The Butterfly title looks like something you would have seen in GLOW.

SHE WEARS STRENGTH AND DARKNESS EQUALLY WELL.
