I would like to see the same direction Charlotte described happen also.
Diva is a contradicting term whether WWE wants a branding term or not.
What is strong and athletic about the term Diva?
When you think Diva you think Mariah Carey etc not women that are pro wrestling for a living.
The division can still have its glamourous women but not every woman needs to look like she fell off the catwalk.
The division needs diversity because that is what life is.
The guys have varied types , the muscle monsters, the leaner high fliers, the handsome, the monsters, the scary, bigger guys, the pure wrestlers, the characters.
So why should the women be defined to one archetype?
There is nothing wrong with simply having a "Women's" division.
A big obstacle in the path of that happening is the nonsense that is Total Divas.
WWE insist on keep on churning out that garbage making their women appear anything but a female wrestler.
That fake garbage has to run its course before the division drops the Diva moniker.
It will run its course in time but who knows when.
WWE fans have always hated the Diva nonsense. I remember back in 2004 when Vince, Laurinaittis and Dunn killed the women's division in favour of the Diva search the fans hated those pathetic segments.
It was a era that saw a legitimate women's wrestling division of Trish , Lita, Molly, Victoria, Jazz, Jacqueline, Ivory and Gail Kim killed off in favour of bringing in garbage like The Bella's, Rosa Mendes, Kelly Kelly etc and literally crap all over what was nicely built to just tear it down.
The fans have never respected that formula and never will hence why it became the famous bathroom break.
Thankfully legitimate women's wrestling and characters are returning and the fans have backed it and expressed it thanks to NXT and the givedivasachance backlash against the terrible main roster division that was turned into a promo for Total Divas and a personal media vehicle for the Bella twins. No one wanted to see that.
The respect would return if we had a Women's division based on good matches and characters.
They have Natalya, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Paige, Becky Lynch, Emma, Asuka, Bayley to make such a division good again.
The potential is there but WWE has to disconnect itself from the crap that is Total Divas and the pandering to a certain pair of twins to do so.
