The way I see it is that I wouldn't have magically become ignorant to how boring and lame the product has become had I not come here.

Re: You would enjoy the product more if you didn't come on here

So were turning on the site now lol? OP internet existed and ruined pro wrestling well before this site existed brah. I mean I presume your all intelligent ppl. You need the internet to form your opinion? Its not this site specifically that ruined your exp. Their are other wrestling sites. Could say the same thing about those sites. Its like saying damn those cavemen for creating fire.

Heed my advice, stop coming on here and complaining. Watch the show and anything and everything that happens will be better.

For the clever geeks out there, I haven't watched the product since mania 31, but I will watch the rumble and you certainly won't see me on here complaining for the build up to mania.
Most of the rumors are false. Most fans can usually tell which direction a storyline is going, so forums aren't to blame.

WWF in the late 80's, early 90's had a 1-900 hotline to get the "inside" scoop on stuff, then you could get spoilers, rumors via 1-800 toll free, then scoopswrestling went to the web and shortly after WWF's 1 900 pay percall numbers seemed obselete because scoopswrestling, pwi would provide you with some fairly convincing rumors or spoilers or thoughts, and eventually you had several dirtsheets that would just send out whatever came to mind.

Spoilers, rumors happen in trash tv, soap operas, so it's not that bad. You have a problem if people don't care to seek out spoilers or rumors about the end product.

Nowadays, most people read spoilers, rumors so they won't be too disappointed at the outcome, lol.

It is still weird to this day that people still legitimately bet on the Oscars and Wrestling, http://www.paddypower.com/bet/sports...rp_ids=1164955

Re: You would enjoy the product more if you didn't come on here

I try to avoid the spoilers, and basically come on forums to discuss wrestling. For the most part, most of my friends have "grown out" of wrestling, so I don't have many people to talk to about it, and it's one of my main passions, so I need that outlet.

I've been posting on wrestling forums since I was 13, and I'm now 25. Honestly couldn't imagine my wrestling fandom without it.

Sure, sometimes you read a lot of negativity on forums, but that doesn't really affect me. I'm capable of reading something, disagreeing and still having my own positive opinion about it.

I would enjoy it if I were a 12 yr old boy who loves superheroes who are undefeatable.

When a PPV comes up I stay away from here till I've had a chance to watch it so I don't see any spoilers, but it's not like I read every single thread either.

No the show being bad is the show being bad. When it's particularly bad seeing other people complain about the things that annoyed me is cathartic and when it's particularly good the excitement can be contagious. Definitely a positive.

This place does tend to be negative but I enjoy the product still.

Same reason most people watch Raw. A programme we dont enjoy that we wish to get better.

Plus being a wrestling fan for over 20 years and wishing to remain up to date, its sort of a given to keep in check with Raw!

We KNOW the industry goes in fits and starts.1995 was one of the worst but soon after came the Attitude Era.

Go figure.

Not that hard to comprehend why some people still hang around even when they dont enjoy.

If you are still struggling to get it, maybe try the old sports team analogy. WWE having several bad seasons in a row...but you still follow hoping for better in the future.

I do totally agree with your principles, nobody should blindly watch without enjoying. There will come a day soon when my patience has worn out with WWE entirely, but when that happens I'm not going to announce it like a mark, I'll probably just stop watching and quietly sneak away.

Re: You would enjoy the product more if you didn't come on here

I wasn't active on the forums for a bit and I enjoyed it more, when you come on and see people criticizing certain wrestlers/announces it's hard to not notice or even look for the flaws while watching, I think that's why people have fonder memories of the attitude era, they tuned in, liked what they liked and disliked what they didn't and moved on like any other show.
