We can blast WWE all we want, but somehow, they make Wrestlemania work.
This past year, people were dumping on Mania pretty hard before it happened. Lesnar vs. Reigns wasn't Mania main event worthy, Undertaker's dragging his ass back for a meaningless Mania match, and they're not even putting him against Sting, Ol' Big Nose had to get involved there. And they're wasting Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose in a random clusterfuck ladder match.
Turned out to be a pretty great show. Lesnar vs. Reigns surpassed my expectations, Undertaker somehow looked and performed like he was 10 years younger, Rollins vs. Orton featured the best RKO ever, and the ladder match was fun and gave Daniel Bryan one more Wrestlemania moment. Triple H vs. Sting was filled with fuckery but it was still great to see the Stinger in a WWE ring.
This year, I think there's enough talent to make a Wrestlemania-worthy show. It won't be the massive star studded event that they wanted, but they've got enough guys on the payroll and a few others a phone call away.
Lesnar, Cena, Triple H and Taker as the established guys, Reigns, Ambrose, Owens as the young blood, capable midcarders like Sheamus, Rusev, Neville and Ziggler. New Day, Usos and Luchas have to fit in somewhere, and the Dudleys.
The loss of Rollins and Orton hits hard this year after they were such good parts of the last one. I'd be getting Jericho and RVD on the phone. I know they've lost a lot of their shine for some people, but still much preferred to Kane and Big Show.
I fully expect Austin and Rock to make non-wrestling appearances.
It kills me that Bryan is apparently healthy now but WWE won't take the chance at a time like this.
