Would you rather find out about a certain wrestler coming back and enjoy the surprise or

Would you rather get news about certain wrestler coming back to WWE ?

I would rather not find out about anything about anyone coming back to WWE through news/forums etc. I really miss the period of WWE where internet wasn't that common. There was not much social media and you had minimal knowledge about the ongoing work behind the curtain.

Now its literally impossible to skip on backstage gossips, news and spoilers. Even if I try to skip forums and sites, there is always social media that spoils everything for you.

Example: I wasn't active on any internet activity around 3 years ago and when Brock came back after mania 28, I was literally in tears because that was the biggest surprise for me in this decade. I miss these kind of surprises and emotional feelings :mj2

It's a tough balance. I never read spoilers unless some idiot posts them on here without a spoiler tag and I love the element of surprise that wrestling can bring you.
At the same time I find if I go a week without checking out the news sites I end up missing stories and happenings that I don't find out about until months later (if ever) when somebody mentions that some legend passed or something like that.

I do often long for the days when everything that happened was a surprise and you didn't know what the big surprise was before it happened

I try to stay away from any spoilers regarding what's going to be happening (Unless it's on Smackdown, Main Event etc. as i don't generally watch those shows), but i always keep a check on what's going on regarding backstage news etc.

The main thing for me is staying off social media on the day of any PPV, just to be on the safe side.

I actually didn't come online for a while because I don't want any spoilers. Especially since it's already so predictable. But hey.. Those are the risks you take, browsing on a forum.

I hate spoilers and I think people invest way too much in dirt sheets, which are often wrong anyway, the WWE change things at any time also, even last minute so investing in them is silly anyway for that reason alone, plus I feel it spoils things also, and where is that element of surprise.

That's why I hate it when people post spoilers on here, because I prefer to enjoy the product without those and have those surprises, but I also enjoy the forum too, so shouldn't be made to choose really in regards to that, however to be fair, most people are respectful anyway and you don't see it happening much without spoiler being in the title, as long as the title doesn't give away the spoiler :)

I find that WWE is infinitely more enjoyable when they can surprise me but, even though I don't visit the dirt sheets, I still get spoiled because many other users here don't bother to cover up spoilers/rumors of spoilers, so avoiding spoilers entirely is pretty much impossible if I want to post here. That's a shitty predicament to be in because I don't want to be spoiled, but I enjoy posting here too much to quit.:shrug

Ideally everyone here would respect that fact for those that feel the same way enough to not post spoilers outside of designated spoiler threads but, sadly, that's just not going to happen, so one just has to deal with it.

Hearing backstage gossip about something after its happens is great. It's often way more interesting than the show itself.

I stay away from spoilers though. Sometimes I hear about something accidentally but its not impossible.

For example I watched Survivor Series on the following tuesday evening without hearing about the results.

Honestly, as much as I love this Forum. I feel that sometimes I'd enjoy the product way more if I didn't check it as often. I had a break period where I barely posted, and I didn't really expect anything from the RAWs or PPV's and just sort of watched every week. So I was a lot more taken back when surprises did happen. The main problem with WWE at the minute though, is besides those occasional moments, it's just very predictable as a whole. For example, everyone knew who would win the last two Royal Rumble matches, as WWE made it plainly obvious, without even checking on here.

I generally try to avoid returns. As I like to be surprised, for example I had no idea that Brock would be coming back, and his return got me so hyped. If I'm correct (but I wasn't around this forum back then) there were rumours floating around that he'd return.

TLDR: I prefer to be surprised, but sometimes it happens regardless because WWE make their outcomes so predictable. Stuff like Rollins' cash in were great, and caught me off guard. I'd love to see more interesting stuff and surprises, we NEED it at this point.

yeah, now WWE kills most of the surprises with their stupid hints and marketing. Sometimes you don't even have to roam around threads to know what is going to happen next.

on Royal Rumble, I think next year should be a surprise winner. They haven't hinted anyone winning right :mj

I'd rather not have to seek out spoilers and ruin potential surprises, but with the WWE product the way it is right now, using spoilers to gauge whether a show will be worth trying to sit through or not is basically a necessity for me.

Conversely, I vigorously avoid all spoilers for NXT, because I actually trust that whatever happens on the show, I will enjoy it.

The only spoilers I actively seek out are the ones concerning what happened on Smackdown/Main Event. Only because it helps me to decided if they're worth watching or not. Otherwise I just tend to avoid spoiler threads.

Don't have time to watch the product much anymore. It's all fairly terrible, lets be honest. I check spoilers and dirtsheets to keep update though.
