Hulk Hogan talking about John Cena making a good heel - Working his NWO run.

I thought this might be quite an interesting read for some people, as I know we speak a lot about a possible heel turn at some point in the future, which of course will happen when his spot has been completely replaced with something solid, however have a read of this if you like.

Quote:
Hulk Hogan On If John Cena Would Make A Good Heel, When He Knew His NWO Heel Turn Was Working

As noted, Hulk Hogan was recently interviewed by Radio Yorkshire to promote his upcoming Sheffield Arena show this Saturday. During the interview, Hogan talked about his heel turn at WCW Bash at the Beach 1996. Also, Hogan discussed the possibility of John Cena turning heel.

On the subject of his own heel turn, Hogan admitted that he did not know whether it would have worked as well as it did until he and his nWo stablemates were pelted with garbage during their interview with 'Mean' Gene Okerlund following the so-called 'Hostile Takeover Match'.

"Well, I was thinking I knew I was going to piss everybody off. I knew it," Hogan recalled. "I didn't know if it was going to work as good [as it did]. I knew I was going to get heat for flipping everybody off, but when [the crowd] started throwing stuff into the ring, when Kevin [Nash] and Scott [Hall] and I were standing there with 'Mean' Gene, when they started throwing bottles and paper and everything into the ring, I knew it worked then."

Hogan claimed that Cena could make for a good heel and that the 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion should not reject the idea without some serious consideration.

"Yeah, I mean, God, I hate to keep saying it, 'never say never', but with Vince McMahon's machine and the WWE and the writers and John [Cena]'s talent, his talent alone, if he were to turn heel and [WWE] let him go, let John go and pull that edge out of John, ooh boy, he'd be a good heel!"

In addition to these topics, Hogan discussed Kevin Owens, facing the Rock at WrestleMania 18, and much more. Click here to check out the entire interview.

Should have happened ages ago but I see why he won't turn any time soon with his other commitments at this point.

It really shouldn't, for us as an entertainment purpose then absolutely but he has been their franchise and their machine, and it's too risky to throw that away just for the sake of giving him a heel turn and not having him go stale, these are the kinda things they can finally do when they've completely stepped down and their spot is filled safely, which is what they've been needing to do for a while now.

It probably will happen at some point, or it should do at least, but until that point, they need someone to pretty much fill his spot completely and cement that, which is where the problem has been really.

I see your point. They need a super baby face. Problem is the mature audience is tired of Cena as a face but I can't see (especially on this roster) that changing. They are in a rock and hard place right now in WWE. They need talent fast.

The only Hogan type backlash Cena would receive if he turned heel would be sweet wrappers thrown from 7 year olds who don't know any better & angry soccer mom facebook posts.

Although Brock Lesnar's "Go to hell tour" might be coming to a close; we still have the decade strong, Vince McMahon's "Go fuck yourself" tour to look forward to.

Hogan is trying to be nice but Cena will never be on a level to do what Hogan did.

Hollywood is the greatest heel ever.

Cena would become an uber heel, if allowed to. It seems a natural fit. But is it a good business fit for Vince? That is seemingly the reason he stays face.

Yeah absolutely, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head there

Hmmm, this is hard to argue with but part of me feel it's debatable too, I do feel that Cena could probably be a pretty damn good heel, it helps the fact he's got the current reputation now, so if he was, it would be huge, the reactions to this would be massive.

I think so too, and no, not right now, it's not .... the only people it would benefit is us .... and that's not a good enough reason to turn someone heel and put a stop on a franchise, however if they can eventually get someone to fill that spot, which is possible but does take time, even if it's close to the things Cena did, as we have to remember that Cena's franchise bringing in 100 million a year alone, also took time to build too, the past ten years basically, so when they get a balance there, then they'll be able to do this.

I do feel it'll happen at some point, the same way it did with Hogan back in the day, it's just they need to be in a safe place with a reliable talent to continue fill the spot where Cena left off ... otherwise if that went tits up and Cena had turned heel ... it would be a bit of a mess.

I think that's the catch 22 with it all really at the moment.

You think he should turn on Taker or Reigns at WM32?
