Re: Why do you think the WWE management are so high on Sheamus??
He is tall and has a good build, he is Irish and can work. We all know that wwe is the land of the giants and Sheamus meets those requirements , plus he is in good shape so that works for him. He can wrestle and I would never outright say he is terrible, because he is not. Sheamus is quite good and with the right opponent can look great, like his matches with Bryan, Jericho and Dolph ziggler showed...also special mention to his match with Big show in 2012, those two had a strong showing on ppv.
also add to this he is irish , with the wwe wanting to present an international and more diverse product, having sheamus being pushed helps them sell tickets in communities with an Irish contingent such as Boston for example and of course he will be the percieved Big star on the Uk tours in particular Ireland.
However creatively to us the viewer Sheamus for the most part has just never clicked with us. We know he is good, we know he can wrestle, but the sheamus persona never caught on in the way the wwe have hoped. As a heel , to an extent he did, he is imposing...but as a face, his promos made him come across as a cheap and cheerful John cena clone. Add to this that he was thrust into his first wwe title run which but many fans backs up against the wall...with the question often being asked ...does he deserve this? and many people pointing to his relationship with Triple h as the reason why...so there was that resentment toward him from the fans.
I feel like he should of been kept away from the title for some time....stayed unbeaten for about a year and kept away from bad promos .... so that when he did eventually get in there with a cena or a punk....he would of been a difference maker.
that formula does work...it works in mma, it works in boxing and works in wrestling......if you remember when Ryback was unbeaten for 2012....when he got in there with cm punk from a business standpoint they did some good numbers.
