"If you're going to give money to a company that claims to raise money for finding a cure for cancer, please do some research. Komen is a scam"
"I'm talking about people collecting money for themselves in the name of breast cancer and you're talking about fake wrestling."
"The truth is never popular. Fuck all you crazy asses. Read a book."
Some fans saw it as a shot at WWE, others think he was watching Football, either way he comes off as a bit of a dick with the "fake wrestling" comment.
Well, to be honest, I think CM Punk might be in the right or wrong, either way I don't condone his behavior towards WWE about the Susan G. Komen support group. Although the Susan G. Komen group isn't as bad as Shelley Lubben's fake Pink Cross Foundation scam of a cult-like church.
He is rightt through. Very little of the money donated to SBK goes to cancer research or helping victims. Their executives' salaries are higher than what actually goes to their "cause". Even though it's considered charity, the people who run it still make personal profit off of it. Most charities are like that.
The wwe fans are fucking embarrassing. He is talking about cancer and a charity. All the idiots can talk about is a fake TV SHOW. Yes its fucking fake scripted tv show.
They know damn well he isn't talking about the athletics or the injuries. The fans are just so damn stupid and defensive of their shit little show.
Punk's entitled to his opinion but it doesnt necessarily means he's correct. I'm sure companies would steer a wide path from Komen if they were purely a "scam".
Well he's right. And the "fake wrestling" thing I'm sure was something he posted intentionally to piss that guy off further. Look at this thread itself. Have an organization collect millions of dollars in the name of cancer and donate only a fraction of it- No problem. Call wrestling fake and the pitchforks are out :lmao
I don't really get involved in these kind of sentimental charity stuff cause I know won't be committed to it. Why pretend that I care about cancer survivors in a WWE ring tonight if I know I won't tomorrow when they're not on my TV?
Not sure if Komen is BS, but I doesn't really concern me if it is either. When things get put on a public/social pedestal, I just tune out.
LOL people are getting mad about the wrestling is fake comment more than the charity scam comment! That's fucking hilarious. :lmao but yea it is a scam.
To be fair less than 10% of all Susan G. Komen donations and funds raised actually go to cancer research so he's not wrong. As for the "fake wrestling" comment who cares? Not like punk is a wrestler anymore who cares about his opinion.
The Best In The World CM Punk the voice of the voiceless speaking nothing but the truth. unk2
People crying over the "fake wrestling" comment(which is true) when instead they should be paying more atention to the fact that this is nothing but a fake campaign by WWE/Susan G. Komen to get money/good publicty for themselves. unk4
CM Punk doesn't watch Raw.
1. CM Punk knows just like everyone else that October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness.
2. CM Punk is still friends/follows people that work for WWE which only makes it easier for him to pass by this Susan G. Komen scam when he's going through his twitter feed.
Breast Cancer has become a revenue-generating business, I thought this was common knowledge by now? I wish I could find that scathing article that a breast cancer survivor wrote on those "foundations", I believe I remember Komen being mentioned directly, though this was several years ago, so I could be wrong.
Well he is 100% right about the charity. Komen is a piece of shit charity, and there are far better options for breast cancer research. WWE and the NFL are two peas in a pod though. Not surprised at all that both are heavily involved with a sham charity.
Its widely known Komen is a bullshitter but unless your a huge name or company that can eat this ahem.. charity, you might as well just vote by not contributing. WWE only cares about them because its good publicity anyway. it would take a lot to end them since so many follow it
Pretty much this. There are companies out there who genuinely care about their charitable work, whereas companies like WWE exploit it for marketing purposes. Thankfully people are beginning to realise just how full of shit they are.
However, the problem isn't just with charities exploiting charity money ---- but largely with people that are too lazy to donate responsibly and dump charity into major corporations and larger entities without doing any research at all.
I don't trust charities period, but as far as scams go he's now working for one of the biggest scammers on the planet. Punk will bring in at least 300k viewers for his 1st fight, but will be paid like a fighter on the amateur circuit:flair4
It's really not as simple as that, there are a lot of people that are clueless on Cancer, specific types of Cancer & signs of if you may or may not have cancer.
It's not a "scum" company.
Raising awareness isn't a form of being a "scum" company.
