Re: WWE doesn't build stars because the midcard belts are meaningless

Why is everybody saying that it will be better with Owens. Put Owens in Ryback's position and it wouldn't be better, a stupid storyline against The Big Show, how are you supposed to do great matches with that ? I am sure that Ryback is going to have a great match against Owens at NOC and not only because of Owens but also because he is a great wrestler.

And totally agree with you, the midcard storylines are essential, without that, we only have a bunch of random matches between wrestlers we don't care about

Seth Rollins having the U.S. title adds a hell of a lot of prestige. Being that it's been touching all of this main event aura, whoever beats Seth Rollins for it, will have also pinned the WWE Champion as well (without actually winning it).

Even if John Cena gets it back, then someone else gets it off of all of that legacy.

John Cena and Seth Rollins have given the U.S. title a hell of a lot of credibility this year.

But he's WWEWHC, and it's shit. Serious question, why can't WWE book the midcard like they are booking Rollins.....right now? That's the kind of attention they should be putting on all the titles, but they only do it for one.

The storyline for Ryback and Owens fighting at NOC is complete dogshit, it's the bottom of the barrel and lazy. THERE IS NO STORY. It's two guys cutting a face and heel promo on eachother to fight at a PPV for no reason.
BBM. This point of contention is where you're wrong. The fans dictate that behavior. I watched my all time favorite, the Hot Rod, wrestle for his entire and I do mean ENTIRE career as he never once held the big title. He just wasn't the right guy. Now you have a fanbase where guys like HBK, Mysterio, Bryan, have to hold the big title or they go into a pants wetting frenzy. The fans dictate that behavior, not the promotion. I remember watching my favorites through the year getting the IC strap knowing for some of them that was their crowning glory, and for others the first big step on the ladder.

The fans don't give a shit about the midcard, why should they sink money into it.

Look how well they did the US open title defense, and how many people shit all over it because Cena was involved.

Writing isn't where it could be, I'll give you that, but when all people seem to care about is getting the big gold on their favorite horse, why spend time on anything else?

That stupid gimmick briefcase needs to GTFO and go away forever.

Then make holding the midcard titles mean something. What I like in TNA is how the X-division champion could get a shot at the main title.

Thats what the midcard title should be. Maybe if you're IC champ for X amount of time or win X amount of matches you get a title shot.

The belts have to have purpose. You cant just say its the midcard belt right below the main one and not give it a reason to exist. Its not a unique special division for girls or cruiserweights or w.e
Fucking this.

The bullshit gimmickry kills the shit out of it. Gimmick matches for the big title have to go too, no more of this three way dance, or fatal fourway fuckery. One of the first signs a wrestler was on his way to the WHC belt was the fact that he was wearing the IC strap.

This is what people complain about? How about the US Champion making the WWEWHC tap out on Raw? If anything the WWEWHC is meaningless now...

Thank You, Bryan! 2009-2016

I believe our anger for the current product stems from the idea that it has so much potential and it's not living up to it. The reason we keep watching is to one day see if it will reach that potential or a level near it. We don't necessarily want the Attitude Era to return, but we want the excitement and the crave to watch more and the need to see what happens next which the Attitude Era brought us.
