WrestleMania Moments?

would like to discuss "wrestlemania moments"

i heard that term all throughout the broadcast last night. as matter of fact Alexa Bliss opened the show referencing having a wrestlemania moment.

why does it seem like they are pushing or trying hard to manufacture these wrestlemania moments? it was rubbing me the wrong way every time i heard it being said.

shouldn't the fans dictate what is a wrestlemania moment? i don't remember hearing hogan say that he can't wait for his wrestlemania moment when he slams Andre.

am I making a big deal out of nothing here? i just don't understand why everyone is so caught up in these wrestlemania moments. shouldn't it just come naturally?

would like to hear others thoughts. thanks!

Re: Wrestlemania Moments?

I agree they are trying too hard to make WM moments popular. cole in particular is very blatant about pushing this at the expense of everything else

"wrestleMANia"

"for the love of Mankind, shane just exploded through a table"

number 1 fan of The Face Of WWE™ alexa

Suffering from incurable Bliss Fever ❤️❤️❤️

Alexa Bliss - global megastar, Tag team Champion, future first ballot hall of famer and Undisputed SD and RAW champ. watch out becky, shes gonna take your crown.

(sigh) oh, Alexa, how magnificent you are. Don't you ever get tired of being so perfect?

I also support BlissCross, the current tag team champs her and Nikki!

WrestleMANia is the cringiest thing I've ever heard said in wrestling. That is one of those times where you feel embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.

Re: Wrestlemania Moments?

Wrestlemania moments have always been "manufactured". It's a fictional show, scripted. But also, true Wrestlemania moments have ALWAYS been rare. Out of 35 Wrestlemanias, a lot of them have been largely forgettable let's be honest

I think Becky and Kofi's wins will always be iconic though, especially those shots of the New Day celebrating with Kofi's children. Two iconic moments is about what I'd expect from any Wrestlemania, the bar really isn't that high

Agreed on Kofi's.

The pure genuine joy on Woods' face tells a story about what black wrestlers have to go to get farther in the business.

His kid coming in reminded me a lot of Bryan celebrating with Conor, moments like that you can't manufacture, I think those are the best ones.

i can wrap my head around your first point in that wrestlemania moments have always been "manufactured" per se, but the fans have always been the ones to really make them what they are.

my overall point is that i feel they are trying to push everything that happens at wrestlemania into a "moment"

to say that out of 35 Wrestlemanias a lot of them have been largely forgettable? ehhhh, i guess it depends on who you ask?

1) Andre vs Hogan and the slam at WM3 is a pretty big wrestlemania moment.

2) Savage reuniting w/ Elizabeth at WM7 is a very memorable wrestlemania moment.

3) Warriors surprise return at WM8 to save hogan is a very memorable wrestlemania moment.

i guess you can say my above three examples were "manufactured" but at same time they weren't pushed prior or during the event as moments. they are moments that just happened and are etched in the history of Wrestlemania.

Re: Wrestlemania Moments?

It's a phoney thing they've tried to patent to try and make it all more epic and dreamy. Ditto pointing at the sign. That was just something people used to do every now and then. Nowadays it seems everyone is ordered to point at the sign every time they get in the ring. Watching Tony Nese go on about how "THIS IS MY WRESTLEMANIA MOMENT" made me cringe so fucking hard. What's the last genuine Wrestlemania moment? Shane jumping off the cell if I had to guess. I guess Kofi's celebration may soon join the list.

Ok, I actually see your point better now. There are moments that were important enough to stand on their own without the WWE telling us "this is supposed to be a moment". That makes sense.

I still don't think out of 35 Wrestlemanias that every show, or most shows, had memorable moments. But I agree with your point
