Possible WWE Extreme Rules Title Matches To Be Announced For Sunday, Creative Meeting Note

Quote:
WWE officials held a creating meeting on Wednesday night to work on plans for Sunday's WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. There's no word yet on if they have any major angles planned for Sunday's show, but we will keep you updated.

Extreme Rules could see the end of some storylines as new RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman and new SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff are expected to have a clean creative slate when they really start to ease into their new roles next week.

There's been speculation on two possible additions to the Extreme Rules card - Shinsuke Nakamura vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor, and Asuka and Kairi Sane vs. WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

Nakamura and Balor returned to TV action on this week's SmackDown, and Nakamura defeated Balor in a non-title match. WWE has been teasing a title match between the two for a few weeks now. The Kabuki Warriors, Sane and Asuka, recently earned a title shot from The IIconics by winning a non-title match in Tokyo, Japan. The two teams did a backstage segment on this week's SmackDown where manager Paige announced that The Kabuki Warriors will get their title shot... eventually. For what it's worth, Kay tweeted the following response to Paige's statement and said the title match won't be happening:

The IIconics were announced for the WWE Watch Along for Extreme Rules, so I don't think they'll be a part of the show.

Also it seems like they are going to drag the feud out until Summerslam, where it seems very likely the IIconics will be dropping the titles. Reason for that is that Peyton's wedding is slated for August 25th, the week after Summerslam, and will likely miss several weeks of TV as a result. And house show stuff. And the womens tag titles are defended more often on the house show circuit than on TV, so its sort of a featured attraction there.

You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me.

I highly doubt Asuka will ever appear on a PPV again, honestly.

Well, while it will be a great match, I think they should have waited on Alliester Black vs Cesaro. I mean the match only has 1 week of build up, and no real back story. They could have easily done the reveal at the P.P.V., to build to the match at Summerslam.

Hell they could have even done A.J. Styles/Ricochet vs the Club, and just had A.J. destroy Ricochet and build to a sixman tag at Summerslam.

Of the 10 matches already confirmed, what do you think winds up on the Kickoff?? I don't think the Cruiserweight title this time, although since its just a rematch, it quite possible.
