None of the matches are extreme, no violence to speak of. The only Extreme Rules match last year was Alexa vs. Nia, it was bad, hardly any weapons until Ronda killed everyone. I remember two years ago they had a 5 way Extreme Rules match and no weapons were used. What was the point of labeling the match Extreme Rules? The main event last year was an....iron man match how extreme. Just can the PPV, they don't care about living up to the name then why bother? Fans aren't stupid, no one buys into that PPV hype anymore. I know everyone's answer will be the same "ugh just ban all gimmick PPV's...", while I don't disagree, this specific PPV just bothers me
WWE right now has become a scam. I'm not surprised that the ratings are downward and to prevent it Vince is doing stupid choices like the 24/7 championship (without hardcore is equal less than zero) and tricking the people with a fake creative power given to Heyman and Bischoff.

Hello I think that the WWE are trying to work in a PG area to get the maximum amount of sponsorship and some companies only will deal if the WWE if PG.

So go to barbwire and large amount of blood like in past is unsafe in the long term health of the wrestlers.

What the WWE want is the maximise the longevity of the wrestlers ,as finding and making a new star is hit and miss .

How would you feel if a wrestler gets an injury they can't come back form and gets paralysed or an infection, when they do risky moves .
NXT commentator Nigel McGuinness got hepatitis B from blood form another wrestler in match.

This is why the WWE give extensive medicals to the wrestler so that if there are any undiagnosed potential problems.

Then WWE can say sorry we can't sign you as the schedule would be to hard on them.

Yours

Because Vince thinks using the letter "X" is somehow super edgy (see XFL) and he can put a giant red "X" in the logo?

The fans don't care about the dirty money that Vince wants in his pocket, but the people wants creative freedom, and seems obvious that the PG restricts this compared to a product rated TV 14.

You think that they really care about the safety of wrestlers? they only care about ratings and begin politically correct because without this things you know what happen? they lose the money, and no cash no more wwe.

I think (and hope) the days of gimmick themed PPV's are numbered.

Well, thereīs no actual dogs in a hot dog either..
Itīs just a name, but I agree that an entire PPV around "Extreme" is too much if they canīt go old-school ECW on it.
Extreme or any sort of gimmick matches should be built up by a storyline, not just because itīs what they have on the program any given month.

You could also ask why the company has the word 'Entertainment' in it's name when it never delivers on that either..

Same reason we have a Hell in a Cell or Elimination Chamber PPV's, but only 1-2 matches are actually in their respective gimmicks. Does it make sense? Absolutely not.

Yeah but my point is why promote a PPV as 'Extreme' and 'Violent' if they know they will not deliver? It only gets people excited to the point fans stop caring.
