Re: 'New Jack City' Reboot In The Works

Bill Cobbs is alive and still acting. Probably can still fire a shot or two at Nino, if need be.

"Idolater!"

When a man's heart is full of deceit,
it burns up, dies, and a dark shadow falls over his soul.

From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse,
a wrong that must be righted.

The movie will most likely take place in modern times which means no crack epidemic at the center of the plot, so I guess the drug game of choice will be opiates or meth. Maybe a change of location outside of NYC too.

Rock-a-bye baby
Bring in Mario Van Peebles too while we're at it.

I also wonder what happened to Allen Payne.

Allen Payne's most recent TV work was starring in Tyler Perry's sitcoms House of Payne (2007-2012) and The Paynes (2018). I say give the brother more work.

For all the New Jack City fans who were upset at the news of a reboot of the classic tale of Nino Brown and his drug empire, you are not alone. The man who portrayed Brown, Wesley Snipes, spoke on the news and wishes that it would be left alone.

Im not associated with it, Snipes said to Shadow and Act. Ive got nothing to do with it at all. I think some things should be left alone.

Snipes would detail the film worked because of the subject matching the current time period.

I dont particularly like the idea of recreating the drug culture. For what? he said. I dont know. They actually talked to me about doing it and I told them no. If I had a dime for every time Ive said no! Its a done deal. Its a wrap.

Shout out to the legendary Wesley Snipes for speaking his mind about not rocking with a New Jack City reboot. Could have been an easy & quick payday for him but he doesn't want to touch his classic.

I echo Wesley's sentient about drugs. Not sure why this is being remade. I mean we know exactly why it's being remade, but it's still a head-scratcher.

So that's a no from Snipes about New Jack City. I actually respect him saying no in this context. But he's going to be in Blade though right? RIGHT?
