I saw it yesterday and really liked it.

I did see the twist coming pretty early on but it was still a good twist on the home invasion movie.

the acting was pretty fantastic as well.
I loved it. A lot of humorous points to offset the horror aspect. As for the twist, I saw it coming early on as well but there's something else that got me thinking.

Spoiler for Spoiler:
I really thought Red Adelaine would get her life back and switch places again but Adelaine was not about to go back without a fight. And killed to keep the life she had stolen. This is where the gray area comes in and reminds me a bit of Brutus in Shakeapeare? Is Red really the villain or Adelaine? Red had her life stolen and went mad but Adelaine wanted a way out of hell and took it. She's lived a good life since then and wasn't trying to kill anyone until her instincts kicked in.

But I'm very curious about Jason. I can't make up my mind whether he was switched or not. He clearly knows that his mother is tethered. Does he not care because this is the mother he's always known or because he's one of them? They kept telling Jason not to burn the house down. Maybe last summer, Jason and his tether switched places and Pluto is really the real Jason; his mouth is burned so he can't speak and Adelaine taught him. It would make sense why Jason can no longer do the trick but Pluto can.

Adelaine is very protective of Jason, more so than her daughter.

Way too big a reach and I feel a lot of people are overthinking about it.

Re: Jordan Peele's 'Us' (March 22, 2019)

The filmmaker's follow up to 'Get Out' scored the third biggest horror opening of all time; 'Captain Marvel' flies past $300 million in the U.S. and $900 million globally.
Rare is the emerging filmmaker who delivers two box-office juggernauts — and profit monsters — in a row.

Jordan Peele did just that with Us, which debuted over the weekend to a terrifying $70.3 million at the North American box office to scare up the third biggest horror opening ever behind It ($123.4 million) and last year's Halloween sequel ($76.2 million), among other milestones.

Overseas, Us took in $16.7 million from its first 47 markets for a global bow of $87 million — more than four times the film's $20 million production budget (that doesn't include marketing).

Buoyed by an ethnically diverse audience, the critically acclaimed pic hits theaters a little over two years after Peele's first feature directorial effort, Get Out, turned into a cultural sensation.

Peele made both films for Universal Pictures, where studio chairman Donna Langley took an early interest in the writer-director. Get Out was a profit monster for all involved after bowing to $33.4 million domestically on its way to grossing $176 million in North America against a tiny $4.5 million budget.

Starring Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, Us tells the story of Adelaide Wilson (Nyong'o), an African-American woman who returns to her beachside childhood home with her two children and husband, played by Duke (Black Panther). Soon, they come up against terrifying and uncanny opponents: doppelgangers of themselves.

Caucasians made up 36 percent of ticket buyers, followed by African-Americans (32 percent), Hispanics (21 percent) and Asian/Other (11 percent), according to PostTrak.

Peele produced the movie via his Monekypaw Productions. Other milestones for the film: it boasts the top opening ever for any R-rated pic after besting Ted ($54.4 million) and the best for a horror title that isn't a sequel or based on existing IP. And it scored the second biggest opening of the year so far behind Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel made headlines of its own in its third weekend as it crossed $900 million worldwide to become the No. 10 comic book adaptation of all time.

The first female-led superhero pic from Marvel Studios and Disney flew earned another $35 million in North America to finish Sunday with a domestic tally of $321.5 million. Overseas, Captain Marvel earned $52.1 million from 54 markets for a foreign tally of $588.8 million and $910.3 million globally.

Captain Marvel wasn't the only superhero movie generating interest. Saturday's sneak previews of DC's Shazam!, according to Warner Bros., which hosted the sneaks with Fandango (preview grosses are never officially reported.)

Back on the official box office chart, Paramount's Wonder Park placed third in its second weekend with $9 million for a domestic total of $29.5 million. The animated family title earned $5 million overseas from 24 markets for a foreign total of $10.2 million and $39.7 million worldwide.

CBS Films' teen drama Five Feat Apart fell a narrow 33 percent in its sophomore outing to $8.8 million for 10-day domestic tally north of $26.5 million against a production budget of $7 million. Overseas, it earned $6.2 million from 32 markets for an early global total of $32.8 million.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World rounded out the top five with an $6.5 million in its fifth weekend for a domestic cume of $145.8 million and $488.1 million globally.

New offerings at the specialty box office included Hotel Mumbai, starring Armie Hammer and Dev Patel. The drama, opening in four cinemas, posted a location average of $21,623 for distributor Bleecker Street, which took over duties after the demise of The Weinstein Co.

Nope, fact that other Jason is growling and not speaking pretty much tells us that's the correct Jason. He's burnt because the other's parents weren't successful in saving him from the fire. She's not more protective of Jason, she's just more aware of him cuz he wonders off and she knows what happens when one wonders off. Especially around those parts"]

Spoiler for spoiler:
That's a real good point. One of the central themes of the movie is that the clones/tethers are the opposite of the above ground humans. So, Pluto's parents definitely wouldn't have been vigilant about him not playing with fire the way the Wilson's tried to protect Jason. Also true that Jason loves to wander off a lot and she knows what could happen.

Re: Jordan Peele's 'Us' (March 22, 2019)

"Us" it's good thriller. It's not a horror film, were the only point is to get those old scares out of you and make you jump. It's sinister and eerie. And although here and there it drags a little bit, it has a very intelligent conclusion. The film is so well wrapped up that made me feel that it was worth my time. A solid 8/10.

Re: Jordan Peele's 'Us' (March 22, 2019)

Give all the money to Jordan Peele loved this Movie and I think it might be my top 3 favorite films of the year so far. Truly chilling and scary, and left so many questions to be answered going forward and I'll put those in spoiler tags. Lupita Nyong'o killed it!

Spoiler for :
MY PREDICTION WAS RIGHT! Fuck me I knew Adelaide wasn't our original copy because one she had alot of animistic way about her that was sprinkled during the film, but just enough not for you not to see it, till the end of the film. Also they didn't know what happened outright with Red and Adelaide so I knew the Scene in 86 was very important to what is going on now. I do have questions though like what will happen with the rest of the Teethered and the Town itself as it seems like this is spreading all over the world? Also if Fake Adelaide took the real Adelaide's spot, handcuffing her and leaving down the Rabbit Hole in a sense, then why didn't real Adeladie come up back up many years sooner? I mean being a little kid I imagine you can't get outta Cuffs, but you would think someone..if not her eventually would get of the Cuffs and confront herself way sooner than the current time. Also how did she convince the other Tethered to join in her cause when all of them were going through what the original copies were going through in daily life?

Re: Jordan Peele's 'Us' (March 22, 2019)

I still need to see this. I really liked Get Out, so I'm more than happy to give this a chance.

Jeez. Maybe Peele should just stick to thrillers. I gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of his comedy, but goddamn, the man knows how to Hitchcock it the fuck up.
