They've had plenty of historical figures on the show before.

You don't need to tell me. Im a who fan of all eras and doctors. It just seems oddly convenient that they'd want to do a Rosa parks episode while a woman Doctor is cast, which is what i didn't want them to do: Use her as a vehicle for soapboxing.

O thought you of all people would know what I'm getting at here

I don't need Doctor Who bashing me over the head with empowerment bullshit.

Whitaker's Doctor has been... eh, so-so. I don't hate her or anything. The writing for the episodes is the much bigger problem.

Agreed. For me, I just want that doctor to be portrayed as a wise alien being who, while he may have human friends, is SMARTER than them, knows better, and doesn't need them to always save his ass. But no. Ever since Tennant we've had to have a whimsical, funny doctor who's more akin to a frolicking Willy Wonka in space than a man of science.

I would rather watch a full series based on Paul McGann in the Time War than any doctor in recent years. Even Capaldi was fucking WASTED. "LOL HES SO GRUMPY AND DOESN'T LIKE HUGS!! XDDDD"

God damn it it just reminds me how much I hate the BBC for what it's done to this show.

Ratings down again this week, both in reception and in viewers.

I'm not surprised. Apart from the obvious pushing of a narrative - it all just looks so dull and lifeless

Re: Doctor Who (Series 11)

I thought the Series started off decent but the last 2 episodes have been really poor. I still feel like Jodie hasn't got her own identity or voice as The Doctor. 90 percent of her dialogue is generic quirky lines that sound like something the 10th or 11th Doctor would have said better. The worst thing is the dialogue has lost that wit and spark and every week seems like a kids show which you could never say about RTD and Moffat.

In fact it's a miles away in quality from anything those two writers did and the only people who seem to enjoy the new show is people who hated the previous era and are happy to accept this mediocrity instead because it would kill them to give RTD or Moffat any credit. Thankfully the next four episodes are written by not Chris Chibnall so it will be interesting to see if there is an improvement.

Yes. Ever since Tennett, the show has falling into shit. Id rather watch late 80s DW than watch most of the post 10th Doctor episodes. And Big Finish seems to be leading up to the Time War with McGann.

I don't watch this show and never have, but I am sorry they got your beloved Doctor Who.

Remember though that the phoenix rises from the ashes this could bring about a good change to the series in the future.

I want to stress that this isnt really a political thing. There were issues even before Jodi was cast.
