Wut da hayell. The Amazing Spider-man movies were mediocre, with Andrew Garfield portraying a terrible Peter Parker and every villain being absolutely forgettable. The Sam Raimi films were better but the action sequences weren't that good for the most part and Tobey MacGuire had serious limitations too-he was a decent nerdy high school nerd Peter, but the evolution wasn't enough and his acting skills weren't that good-. Also Spider-man 3 is considered an atrocious film. Spider-verse was a nice love letter but also a totally different thing.

Holland is the best Peter Parker / Spider-man without a trace of doubt, Vulture was an awesome villain and I expect Mysterio to be as good as him. Feige really knows how to translate comic characters to the films.

Can't believe they made Mysterio look cool and badass.

Just give me Scorpion and I'll come all over the screen.

While both the Raimi films and Amazing Spider-man films have their flaws and had things that were different, they still at it's core retained all the things that make Spider-man who he is. Uncle Ben, Aunt May, Harry, Mary Jane, Flash Thompson, "With great power comes great responsibilty", Peter actually having consequences to his actions that affected the peoole around him and trying to balance his regular life with his superhero life. Say what you want about Spider-man 3 but again at least there was weight to it and didn't throw out everything that made Spider-man and who he was. People want to shit on Amazing Spider-man 2 but I guarantee we will never see a tragedy as deep and hearfelt as Peter failing to save Gwen Stacy in the MCU. Tragedy is apart of the Spider-man story and we have yet to see that once yet with this new Spider-man.

Also Spider-man 2 is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. Period. The movie is ALL about Peter trying to balance his social life and his superhero life and the consequences that can come with each.

And don't get me wrong I like Holland but what makes him "without a doubt" the best Spider-man? Because he makes jokes and is a fun guy IRL? That's all I ever hear Holland fans say as if through all these years Spider-man became such a beloved character simply because of his funny one liners.

Also yes, Spiderverse was different but again, it still retained THE CORE of what Spider-man is IMO; tragedy, responsibilty, and the consequences to your actions, while reminding you that you always should do the right thing no matter what. It actually embraced those things better than any Spider-man movie I've seen, even arguably better than Spider-man 2.

Sony has: SM, SM2, Into the SV = 3/6.

Disney has: Civil War(the only time I felt he was pretty good) = 1/3.

So when it comes to Spider-man Sony>Disney so far.

Here's a pretty good video on why Disney Spider-man isn't good.

I think Holland is a great Spidey and Homecoming was good, even though the first two films are still the best.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5, 2019)

Why are people referring to this as "Disney Spider-Man", when Feige has only developed the core characters such as Peter, Mysterio, and Vulture? Everything else was very much done by Sony. So you're saying it's a bad "Disney Spider-Man" when in reality you're saying "it's just another bad Sony Spider-Man film". They (Marvel) didn't make the casting choices like Brock, fake MJ, etc that was 100% Sony.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5, 2019)

I watched the trailer again : is it me or do Mysterio's powers look like Dr Strange's ? It would be interesting if he was using the same kind of magic they introduced in Strange's movie.

It's honestly odd, they're putting Disney/Marvel in this position of power that they never were in. As if they think Sony sold all of the rights back to them or something. The reality is Feige was given the power to handle the story and its ultimate connection to the MCU as well as a few casting choices. They gave Feige "voting rights" over who would play Spider-Man between Holland, Tyler O'Brien, etc and that was it, and I even heard O'Brien was one of Feige's favorites. But they've made it loud and clear that this (being Spider-Man) is still very much in Sony's control. It all seems to me that people are just looking for reasons to bitch at Disney/Marvel if I'm being real. I know people have genuine grips with Homecoming and they're mirrored in Far From Home, that's fine there's no issue here. Just don't point the blame game at Disney and co. when it isn't even remotely within their power to be at fault.
