Re: Rambo 5 in the works. With Stallone.

Filming is scheduled to commence in mid-September and the film is tentatively poised for an autumn 2019 release.

Rambo 5 releases its official plot details and it sounds violent as hell

John Rambo is back.
Here's something that might be a surprise. In the very first Rambo film, First Blood, John Rambo only kills one person.

When everyone's favourite Vietnam vet returned for the sequel, the thirst for blood escalated as he killed 75 people. Yikes! That's some jump on the bodycount.

Rather than chill out, Stallone's character upped the ante in Rambo III with a staggering 115 fatalities. This paled in comparison though to the carnage that unfolded in the fourth film, John Rambo, as he practically turned into Ares, the Greek god of war. 254 kills, Christ almighty!

A few days ago, Stallone announced that he will be returning for a fifth film in the franchise and Screen Daily have revealed the plot for the as-yet-untitled Rambo 5.

The film starts with Rambo living on a ranch in Arizona, “deeply troubled and wrestling with PTSD as he picks up casual work wherever he can. When long-time family friend and estate manager Maria informs Rambo that her grand-daughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster."

Rambo needs to die in this one.

I feel like the character has been searching for a noble death or a reason to die. That was definitely apparent in the first film and the fourth film.

It'd be nice to close the book on the character in some tragically beautiful way.

Oh for fuck's sake...

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its 5-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

No official release date as of now but it's tentatively scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2019 (so October-December some time; my guess is October).

Re: Rambo 5 in the works. With Stallone.

Wonder if he'll keep the tone of the violence akin to the last movie, which I watched last night for the first time in a while and I'm still p.amazed at the fact that the whole movie got passed by the often snooty and annoying ratings board. Don't get me wrong, the violence is great when it comes to Stallone's antics, I'm just surprised they let it go.

10 years later and with the extra PC world we live in, I wonder what the landscape will be now. Although I'm sure Sly won't wish to compromise on whatever vision he's got for the new movie.
