I dock points from Civil War mostly because it chickens out in the end and doesn't deliver on what it proposes.

It creates this interesting, ideological battle between our two heroes... yet by the end of the movie it becomes totally inconsequential and they are fighting as a result of something mostly unrelated.

Re: Avengers: Endgame

I finally saw Endgame yesterday.

Man I gotta say, the first 45 minutes are BORING. Sleep inducing. The beginning with Hawk Eye was a good scene. After 45 minutes the ball gets rolling

Infinity War is the better film of the two

I saw it for the second time last weekend, and the first two hours are still very frustrating.

I was expecting it to be easier to watch once my disappointment from the cinema had gone away but it's actually worse when you know the only good action scene in the movie is going to take forever to happen.

It's basically two hours of fan service and a huge battle that barely shows most of the characters. Guys like War Machine, Bucky, Groot, Nebula etc... do jack shit. I'd rather have the whole Asgard scene skipped and see those characters have their moment in the climax.

Basically, I'm still disappointed.
I have watched Infinity War like eight times since the blu ray was released, I'm not even sure I'll see Endgame again this year.

If I ever do watch Endgame again I think im gonna skip about an hour of it cause already know how boring it is. Thats gonna make me more bored upon future viewing.

I almost hate that they gave us that great Hawk Eyed scene in the beginning. Cause of how good it was I was like "oh man, here we go!!" Getting me all hyped and excited only to kill my interests with those boring scenes.

Also im confused early in the movie. Thanos said 'I destroyed the stones...with the stones." Or something like that.

So does that mean there were two sets of infinity stones? Or he destroyed one set by himself?

I also agree about the "epic" battle. Infinity War did it better simply because it had better character moments.

Steve Rogers and Groot.
Rocket and Bucky.
The hero women gathering together was better done in Infinity War.
When Thor arrives to the battle.
Even Hulk had a good moment in Infinity War.

When Infinity War finished I silently went "wow" at the movie.

When Endgame finished I was mostly like... Ok,well its over!

The scene with old Captain America and Sam was beautifully done though that was a nice scene

Re: Avengers: Endgame

For my money, Captain America wielding Mjolnir and commanding "Avengers Assemble" is more epic than any moment filmed in the MCU thus far.

Re: Avengers: Endgame

The first hour was brave, brilliant, and necessary for the MCU. It was the most real the universe has ever felt, it gave everything stakes, it established that the Avengers can lose and when they lose it matters deeply, to them and to the world. It gave them a reason to risk everything, it gave Tony a great reason not to and showed what happens when the Avengers don't win.

If they could have such a total defeat as what happened in Infinity War and just skip over it like it's nothing, go back to quipping and having fun battles, it would have totally undermined Infinity War and totally undermined the stakes in any future major conflicts. Even if they are utterly defeated by an omnipotent enemy, no problem, the world won't be effected that much, your heroes will just fix everything.

There was one set of stones, the set he had at the end of IW, he used them to destroy themselves.
