Re: Halloween (October 19th, 2018) Written by Danny McBride of all people

McBride is just a talented dude. I expect this to be quite good. Carpenter saying "WOW" is the best thing about this for now. Carpenter doing the music will be the real best thing if it actually happens.

The new Friday the 13th was cancelled btw. From what I read about it, that's probably a good thing.

On one hand I am not interested in another reboot. On the other hand if Carpenter is really excited about it then it might be worth checking out.

Well, it's nice hearing the guy who created Myers is actually giving good praise about the direction they're going. I really hope that turns out to be a good sign for this reboot.

Hopefully it is not a case similar to James Cameron giving a thumbs up to Terminator Genisys. I do believe at this point a new Halloween film with McBride and Carpenter at the helm does sound promising. Too bad Friday The 13th franchise can't get it together. That should hopefully change once rights revert back to New Line Cinema. With this next Halloween they need to get back to the basics of a creepy serial killer stalking and killing babysitters. Fuck the origin stories and convoluted bullshit in slasher movies. Halloween at its best is about scary atmosphere building high tension.

Well Carpenter is involved and seems pleased with what they've come up with, so hopefully they give this one a good go. I know the Halloween franchise has taken its fair share of hits, but I'm a big Myers mark, so i'm up for another one.

Why not? 40 years after the original film. Makes for a good anniversary present (if it's good, of course).
