Re: DCEU Discussion & Speculation

Grace Randolph (DC & Marvel comic book writer, former Marvel's The Watcher host) made a video analyzing the Berg-Johns announcement.

Re: DCEU Discussion & Speculation

So basically if I understand this correctly Warner Bros has restructured DC into a similar system to what Marvel have in place. That's great news.

I don't see how anyone can complain about this

I know I sound like I may be beating a dead horse here but I really believe the problem has just always been Snyder. I know we all have our opinions on Man of Steel and BvS, but to me the only thing those movies REALLY suffered from was incompetent story telling. That's it. I feel like given the right director the scripts they had with Man of Steel and BvS COULD have worked wonderfully, it's just again Snyder is just NOT a good story teller, so everything just came off as an incoherent mess that made no sense and forced the viewers to piece it all together for themselves. People can complain about all the bad in those 2 movies but I felt the good FAR outweighed the bad, again it was just presented bad.

Snyder IMO is the only place were WB is "complicating things" honestly, they just seem to not want to get rid of (or admit) the problem that's right infront of them.

Except they have TWO people instead of ONE..... I mean it's not like there hasn't been multiple showrunners before!(Cmon let's be honest, cinematic universes are now grander versions of TV shows.).

Re: DCEU Discussion & Speculation

It's got to be kind of rough for DC to find good directors though when many of them are already doing Marvel movies. Plus, Nolan's out of the comic book movie business now I think.

If I were at DC or Warner, I'd try and get Joss Whedon to do one more comic book movie and do it for a DC character. It feels like he could easily do Wonder Woman.

And get Guillermo Del Toro working on something supernatural like Justice League Dark

And I feel like Sam Raimi could still bring something good to the table. Say what you will about Spiderman 3, but the first two he did were really good. So was Darkman. I think he could do a good movie with the right character, maybe even Superman

True but that can be said with any system though. Even with "Marvel's way" of doing things they've produced shitty movies. Again it still comes down to the film maker at the end of the day.

This will become abundantly clear once audiences have had the opportunity to sit down and watch Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.

The only reason Zack Snyder is still on board is because Justice League: Part 1 was too far in development by the time BvS was released. I will be shocked & amazed if he's still running things by the time that movie is in the can. We've already seen Warner Bros beginning to edge him out of the picture. At worst he's going to remain in an advisory role as an exec producer, he won't be calling the shots.

All this talk about rebooting the universe and selling the rights to Disney is absolutely absurd. Clearly some people around have no patience whatsoever.

Well we can only hope. I have faith these movies will be awesome without Snyder at the helm. New directors can make such a world of difference. I mean look at Civil War compared to Age of Ultron.

Lol again people acting like its TNA vs WWE. Hell it's not even WCW vs WWE, more like Coke vs Pepsi.

Plus some people just don't understand how a monopoly can just ruin things for the fans. All just a bunch of knee jerk reactions IMO.

Re: DCEU Discussion & Speculation

In Geoff we trust.

I've defended Snyder before, but I am curious to see how the first DC movies without him at the helm (Suicide Squad and WW) are going to fare out.

Suicide Squad looks like it will be a great movie. It's the movie I am looking forward to the most in 2016, and that's saying something considering how hyped I was for Deadpool.
