“Stranger Things” Star Randy Havens Joins ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’

“Science is neat, but I’m afraid it’s not very forgiving.”

The cast for Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters just keeps getting better, as Dougherty himself took to Twitter today to announce that Randy Havens has joined the cast. Havens played lovable science teacher Mr. Clarke in “Stranger Things,” which is interesting because fellow star Millie Bobby Brown is also on board the sequel!

Bradley Whitford Joins ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’

Bradley Whitford is set to join the ensemble of Legendary’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” starring Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler.

Thomas Middleditch, Vera Farmiga, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are also on board. “Krampus” helmer Michael Dougherty is directing the project from a script he penned with Zach Shields.

Alex Garcia will oversee the tentpole for Legendary. “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” hits theaters on March 22, 2019, with the monster mash-up “Godzilla vs. Kong” slated to bow the following year on May 22, 2020.

Plot and character details are being kept under wraps.

Legendary and Warner Bros. announced in late 2015 that all future King Kong and Godzilla movies would be developed by Legendary and distributed by Warner Bros., starting with “Kong: Skull Island.” Legendary currently holds a distribution deal with Universal, but in order to re-team Godzilla and King Kong, the studio returned the rights to WB.

Whitford is best known for his Emmy Award-winning performance as Josh Lyman on “The West Wing.” He also won an Emmy in 2015 for his guest role on Amazon’s acclaimed “Transparent.” Most recently, Whitford starred in Jordan Peele’s box office smash hit “Get Out.”

‘Silicon Valley’ Star Thomas Middleditch Joins ‘Godzilla’ Sequel (EXCLUSIVE)

“Silicon Valley” star Thomas Middleditch looks to have found his next project while on hiatus from the HBO show.

Sources tell Variety Middleditch has joined Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler in Legendary’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”

Vera Farmiga and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are also on board. “Krampus” helmer Michael Dougherty is directing the project from a script he penned with Zach Shields.

“Kong: Skull Island” recently opened with $167 million at the domestic box office and $565 million worldwide. Middleditch had a small cameo in the film voicing an off-camera character.

Besides “Silicon Valley” — which was recently picked up for a fifth season and earned Middleditch an Emmy nomination last year — the actor is also voicing one of the leads in DreamWorks Animation’s “Captain Underpants.” He also recently wrapped production on “Replicas” opposite Keanu Reeves.

Zhang Ziyi Joins Legendary’s Monsterverse Beginning With ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’

Zhang Ziyi is set join Legendary’s Monsterverse in a major franchise role, beginning with the next “Godzilla” film, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” The Beijing-born actress will star opposite Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, and Ken Watanabe.

The film is set several years after the events of the 2014 “Godzilla,” and her character is a significant figure within the covert Monarch organization established in that film.

This is what concerns me, this is supposed to be a big movie with more monsters yet they keep stacking the cast. Makes me wonder if it's going to be like 2014 Godzilla, 2 and a half hours with 10 minutes of Godzilla.

I didn't watch Magic Mike to see a stack cast of background people or stories relating to random people in it. I certainly don't want to watch a monster movie where the monsters aren't the main aspect of the film!

I read that they will change Godzilla's look. Only thing they should do is give him more atomic breath and perhaps this roar, to go with this his 2014 roar.
