Hoping this is better than the first one. Fingers crossed for more Godzilla action and fewer boring humans clogging up screen time.

One of the recent Legendary Monsterverse comics confirmed Telepathy is a thing that exists so I would not be shocked if Millie Bobby Brown's character has it and has a connection to Mothra.

Seriously, Godzilla was in it for 9 minutes, the constant blackouts during fights was annoying and honestly couldn't care about the wooden human characters.

Besides Cranston I cannot even remember who is in it.

Also the Soldier that's everywhere Godzilla was... is so bad.

Not to mention the end fight was about as predictable as a Lesnar versus Ellsworth match and just as anticlimactic.

With Pacific Rim 2 on the way and other monster movies, they need to step up the game!

Also hoping Mothra beats up Godzilla.

re: Godzilla: King of Monsters (March 31, 2019)

My only fear with this film is that they'll take the "Godzilla wasn't in the movie enough" criticism of the first film and basically turn the 2nd into a Transformers movie and give us SO MUCH of the monsters, that I get sick of it.

And trust me, the LAST thing I want to have happen is to get sick of Godzilla.

My critique of "very little Godzilla screen time" is always followed by "boring human characters."

If the human characters were actually interesting or engaging, I'd have very little issue with Godzilla just showing up when he is needed and not being overexposed.

Unfortunately, the 2014 film killed off the most interesting human character in the entire film about half an hour into it and left us with characters who were as interesting as watching paint dry. They were so damn boring and vanilla. As much shit as the 1998 film gets, at least the characters were vastly more entertaining, imho. Jean fucking Reno.

Well the main criticism of Superman Returns was that it was boring and had no action. Then Man of Steel had a shit ton. It's gonna happen, Patty! A roided up, nuke drunk Godzilla is gonna be wrecking fools, 25 minutes at a time!

And it will be glorious!

Queen Nicki Returns.....

i think they couldn't get cranston to agree to be in more movies so they decided we'll kill him off and make his son the hero that will be the central human character for the series

well that worked out didn't it now

is the son even going to be in king of the monsters? i dont think he is. the reaction to him was just so bad

what they should have done is kill him off and have bryan cranston go absolutely nutso for revenge. monsters killed both his wife and son and he's had enough of this shit. have him clash with ken watanabe over what to do about the monsters. have ken be the same as he was, let them fight, blah blah blah, have cranston go all breaking bad. kill the monsters at any cost. that would've been good drama between two great actors.

instead we get ken watanabe saying he wants cranston and son on his team then cranston dies and the son doesn't interact with watanabe the whole rest of the damn movie. geez louise.

A Bryan Cranston/Ken Watanabe rivalry.

Such a shame that what we did get could not compare.
