While it's being written it varies.

But once they're shooting the director can do pretty much whatever he wants to the script so long as he has the producers' blessing.

Writer<Director<Producer

Doesn't really apply in this case since JJ is all three lol In this case it's more

JJ<Disney

Re: Star Wars Episode IX (December 20, 2019)

Han Solo from a New Hope has more charisma and better lines than anyone combined in Force Awakens. That makes A New Hope > Force Awakens by default.

Sounds like they don't care about any new visions or exploring much. They just want a paint by numbers movie, so a rehash of Return of the Jedi including new Ewoks.

I'm going to laugh so hard if this new trilogy makes the Prequels look good by comparison.

I would love to see movies about knights of the old republic.

John Boyega Says Rey And Finn Will Reunite For Star Wars Episode IX

John Boyega's Finn and Daisy Ridley's Rey were introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and spent a lot of time running around together. Some viewers were disappointed when The Last Jedi saw them mostly separate until the end, despite that being the plan so they can be challenged. Now, according to Boyega, the pair will be back together for the next movie.

"I haven’t read the script for Episode 9. But Daisy did shoot me a text saying, 'Oh my gosh, I just heard from JJ (Abrams), and we’re back together,'" the actor said at AwesomeCon at the weekend. That’s what I’m really excited about, is Finn and Rey back together again."

And that's not all he said, as he also reiterated something he's mentioned in the past – that the next instalment will see the Resistance and the First Order truly throw down. "I think it’s going to be all-out war in this final chapter, so we need to be prepared."

With Abrams back directing, having co-written the script with Chris Terrio, Star Wars Episode IX is due to start filming this year, with its release already set for 20 December, 2019.

Finn & Rey back together again to fight an all out war...uhhh...I'll take it over more Finn & Rose.

Ok so after this one is over and Rey and Kylo Ren get married and live happily ever after and then die, can we get Grand Admiral Thrawn for the next trilogy? I mean jeeeez.

I'll watch this but the last movie fell a bit flat for me. I'm looking forward to a Star Wars completely unencumbered with the current continuity. I def. would prefer something like a Knights of the Od Republic.

I mean wasn't it kind of obvious they'd be back together considering how Ep VIII ended?

It is. I think what Boyega & Ridley are getting at is they will be on this next journey and fight together as a duo like they were in The Force Awakens. Not ground breaking news but it's a little tidbit on the finale of this modern trilogy.

I know, I know. I wasn't having a go at you, just the media making a big deal out of a non story.
