Batmanffleck should be a very good movie. I just hope his Batman is 100% serious. Keep camp as far away from this as possible. It does sound promising and the projected movies sound like they could be gritty. DCU needs some homeruns to keep on the same playing field as the boys at Marvel.

New Batman Ben Affleck 'inspired' by his superhero director Zack Snyder

We're considering ourselves pretty lucky to be getting at least four movies with Ben Affleck as the newest cinematic Dark Knight. There's of course Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (out March 25), a small part to play in Suicide Squad Aug. 5, and a bigger one in two planned Justice League films.

But Affleck may do more than just wear the cape and cowl, with trades reporting over the summer he planned to co-write, direct and star in a solo Batman film. Which sounds cool to us. YOU GO, #BATFLECK.

When we talked with the star for a recent piece about DC's extended movie universe, bringing it up naturally made him kinda cagey. The only movie Affleck knows he's directing is the one he's doing right now, next year's Live By Night, an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane crime novel. After that, he's not sure. At least officially.

However, we did ask him if one of the reasons why he signed up to play Batman was to perhaps have a chance to tell his own stories in this superhero universe one day. His answer:

"I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this. And in working with (Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder) and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."

So... he didn't say no! For now we'll keep our fingers crossed for a full feature with Affleck's Bats vs. Jared Leto's Joker. In the meantime, there'll probably be some fun stuff for Batfleck fans with The CW's The Dawn of the Justice League special on Tuesday with more BvS hype plus a new Suicide Squad trailer.

The world is ready for a Dick Grayson Batman. They just don't know it.

We need a genius acrobat with a sense of humor that gets all the chicks. Get Batman back to his detective roots.

Asshole Batman got old about a year after The Dark Knight Returns was written. I mean I love The Dark Knight Returns, but it's an alternate reality for a reason.

But I thought Zack Snyder was just suppose to be a hack? Why would someone like Ben Affleck get inspired by him

In Snyder We Trust!

I wonder if he'll still be inspired by him after Batman v Superman can't even get 65% on RT. That might change his inspirations pretty quick. At least, we can hope.

Rotten Tomatoes ratings mean jack shit. If people go by those ratings when it comes to watching movies they're imbeciles.

Home Alone doesn't even have a fresh rating and Transformer's 4 had an atrocious rating yet that grossed over $1 billion dollars at the box office. Reviews are irrelevant when it comes to the average movie goer.

If we can all just agree to turn our backs on Tyrion Lannister like Nancy did to Freddy Krueger in NOES, he'll disappear, at least figuratively.
