End it with Infinity War and reboot

More seriously, where can you go after Infinity Gauntlet? Annihilation would be amazing.

If they actually got the FF rights back from Fox, we could see an entire phase built around Negative Zone characters and Skrulls, so that's possible.

Great Peter Parker, awful Spider-man. Holland is, apparently, perfect at both.

That's really a shame if true. I'd rather take the older Tobey Maguire playing a good Parker/bad Spiderman over the younger Holland playing an equally good Parker/Spiderman simply on principle.

I always looked at film as the one place where the otherwise usually non-lineal comic book world can actually be ironed out all the way through without recasting or reboots. Comics always change writers or re-do origin stories, but I think that movies would and should be different.

Every new Spiderman (or any superhero, for that matter) or reboot just eats away at me. Especially since I grew up on Maguire as Spiderman, which I really liked outside of nostalgia. Like I said before, I'd rather have an older Spiderman in character and casting have gone through a shitty movie (ex. Spiderman 3) or two in an otherwise outstanding franchise over a new, unfamiliar one every 3-4 years that never sticks like Holland and even Garfield.

Are you a big Silver Surfer fan like me @MrMister

They could do so much if they did get the FF rights back. Not sure if they plan on waiting and seeing but they should just consider buying it back if that's an option.

What was so awful about Tobey in the role if I may ask? Was it just because his Spidey didn't wise crack as much?

I recently re-watched Spider-Man 1 & 2 and IMO they still hold up incredibly well.

Spider-Man 3 never happened

That's one of the reasons, but the biggest issue is, when he did "wise-crack", it was tough to buy it. I have a sense that Tobey, himself, doesn't have much of a sense of humor, which is why the lines just didn't fly. After watching many of his interviews, I can confirm this.

Thanos is only beaten because he allows himself to be, and he only allows himself to be beaten because, in spite of his ambition to attain ultimate power, he sub-consciously knows that he's not worthy of it.

Fair enough, I can understand that to a degree. Fear not though, Tom Holland's sense of humor is certainly visible throughout Civil War

That's what I hear . Spidey's personality should be that of an oblivious geek with a loudmouth, so if Holland nailed that, I'm stoked to see it !
