Re: MCU Discussion & Speculation

Isn't this Ike Perlmutter guy like 73 years old? Same age as Vince?

This is what happens when billion dollar companies are run by Grandpas. They don't want any kind of change.

The faster they hit the bucket the better.

Perlmutter. Such antiquated foolishness.

But if Marvel didn’t want you to present Mandarin the way you did, they would have stopped you.

Of course, they didn’t care. But when the blowback hit, they cared.

You had to know there’d be some blowback.

No, we didn’t. We didn’t know. We all thought they’d eat it up because it never occurred to us the Mandarin is as iconic to people as, say, the Joker in Batman.
This is why your villains in the films are such jokes, Marvel. Aside from Loki, every single one of 'em is weak and forgettable. If Marvel does not even have enough faith in their villains, why should the audience? Even if The Mandarin is not The Joker, he should've been treated as a big deal and with more respect shown to the character. That's why when I'm watching a Marvel film, I don't feel as if the stakes are really high because the villains are garbage and they provide no real threat to the heroes. Thor: The Dark World was the worst offender of this, imo. Malekith was such a jobber. They say a hero is only as good as his/her villain and all of the heroes in the MCU need a wake-up call villain, pronto. Thanos should hopefully be the antidote because Loki is more anti-hero/anti-villain right now than anything.

Re: MCU Discussion & Speculation

I haven't hung out with my buddy who works for Disney yet, but he did message me Blade, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight are all but confirmed for Netflix appearances. Whether it's series' for phase 2 of Netflix or just intros (ala Punisher) is still to be determined.

Take it as you will, but he's been right about everything he's "leaked" to me thus far

Just read that, but he didn't mention Universal, wasn't that where the solo-film rights were? The same situation exists with Hulk which is why they're doing Planet Hulk in Thor 3 instead of as its own film.

Thanos is only beaten because he allows himself to be, and he only allows himself to be beaten because, in spite of his ambition to attain ultimate power, he sub-consciously knows that he's not worthy of it.

I've gone over this a million times, Marvel, can make a solo, Hulk, movie anytime they like, they would just have to share distribution rights with, Universal.

It doesn't matter.

Disney own Marvel.

They aren't going to let Universal to get the majority of the $$$.

New Details On Sharon Stone’s Mystery Marvel Role

A while back, Sharon Stone revealed that she had signed on to appear in an upcoming Marvel movie, but that’s all that she was allowed to say about her involvement with the project at the time. She never even specified whether she was talking about a Marvel Studios or 20th Century Fox production, so speculation about what role that might be and which movie she’ll appear in has been running rampant ever since.

Now we have another small clue about her mystery role and it sounds like she’s playing a superhero. The actress was part of a feature article by AARP alongside Academy Award winner Jane Fonda and Luke Cage actress Alfre Woodard, where it’s revealed that her character has heat-related powers. Here’s the excerpt from the article:

“Meanwhile, Woodard and Stone are about to become very familiar to the highly sought-after comic-book-film crowd: Woodard’s character is a villain in Marvel’s anticipated Netflix series Luke Cage; Stone has been cast as a superhero — she’ll only reveal that her secret power is heat — in a yet-to-be-named movie, also for Marvel.”

Aside from Extremis, we haven’t really seen any other heat-based powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it would be interesting if she was playing someone like Nikki in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, or perhaps even Clea in Doctor Strange. As for mutants, it would be cool to see her in a role like Selene in the X-Men franchise. What do you guys think? Sound-off your thoughts on the news in the comment section below.
There's speculation in the comments of that story she could be Janet Van Dyne in Ant-Man & the Wasp. Janet does fire stinger blasts from her hands. That could be construed as "heat".

Re: MCU Discussion & Speculation

That's actually pretty smart casting given her history with Michael Douglas. I'd still prefer Catherine Zeta Jones though.
