I honestly think X-Men is the one property Marvel won't get back unless they shell out several hundred million, if not over a billion, dollars. They're too successful and consistent for Fox to have any reason to stop or sell the rights. I think them working out some sort of agreement for team ups and cross overs some time in Phase 4 is a much bigger possibility. They the longer they go on the harder it will be to merge the two world.

That's assuming the Comic Book bubble doesn't burst, which is a very likely scenario. I mean just look at Westerns.

They'll only burst if there's an influx of terrible ones. Wouldn't compare them to Westerns because times change and I don't think many people care about old westerns anymore.

I don't believe in the mythical comicbook movie fatigue which I've heard about.

The comparison is accurate. Westerns were extremely popular back in the day but once audience grew tired of the genre production of those movies halted to the point where we're extremely lucky to see any being made at all these days.

Oversaturation is just as dangerous as a badly made film. We're going to be bombarded with comic book movies in the next five years. I'll be very interested to see if the enthusiasm and excitement for this genre is still there once we reach 2020.

Well the difference between westerns and superhero genre is the specification. The westerns are so specified with settings and and character arcs. The superhero genre can literally take place anywhere and so many different levels of the genre. Just this past year we had three super flicks with completely different story's and archetypes no to mention they were also apert of another genre.

Captain America was superhero spy thriller
X men was a superhero sci fi time traveling movie that was also part period piece
Guardians was basically superhero space western

I mean they might belong to the superhero genre but they could branch out to other genres where's westerns I kinda stuck in a certain time and with the time I stuck with certain number of story's they can tell

Re: MCU Discussion & Speculation

The genre is irrelevant. It'll happen regardless of it. Be it over saturation or fatigue after 10-15 years of a couple every year people will just tire of it. Add on the eventual lineup changes, recasting, or any other multiple things that can happen with long running franchises, eventually it just wont be at the level it's at now. Guaranteed.

Don't know if it's been posted elsewhere but:

Frank Grillo For Five Marvel Movies

Quote:
Whilst conducting an interview with the New York actor we took the opportunity to ask whether he would be up for developing that side to his character. It being a Marvel film he was understandably very coy about what he could and couldnt say stating:

I am not at liberty to discuss anything Marvel related, they want to keep everything a surprise.

Though when asked hypothetically were they to ask would he be up for it he let slip:

Im signed with Marvel for five or six movies so when they call I have to come.
As a fan of Crossbones, that sounds pretty great to me. He probably will be in Civil War and after that I'm hoping for a Thunderbolts appearance(s) *fingers crossed*

Interesting. He'll definitely make an appearance in Civil War.

Probably Ant Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Infinity War. If hes counting Winter Soldier as one of his movies, I'd say he meets his demise in Captain Marvel.

Speaking of Captain Marvel. Wouldnt it be cool if she is subtly introduced in Agents of Shield as part of Talbot's army (no powers yet of course).

Just because he's signed to a five movie deal doesn't necessarily mean Marvel will use him in five movies. Those long deals are more of a precaution than anything else. Still it's awesome none the less, Grillo deserves to be a part of this universe.
