Can we brake the rules within reason?

Meant "Break". Sorry to bother with what might be a silly question.

I'm asking this because I've read the rules pretty extensively and I believe I know why most are in place.
What I'm asking is this: Say a comparison thread is made is it acceptable if there is a reasonable question to be asked and a discussion can be held without it turning into a pissing match between fans of wrestler X and fans of wrestler Y?

For example: Compare the career trajectories of Nature Boy Buddy Rogers and Nature Boy Ric Flair. How were they similar? How did Flair differ from Rogers vs. what did he flat out steal?

Basically what I want to know is if a discussion like this can be accepted by the mods as long as it stays intelligent or is Brock going to come in immediately and Cena me and my comparison thread? Thanks.

If you PM a mod and ask them you will avoid wasting your time.

The rules are in place because if they aren't we have no grounds to stop people from making countless ROCK or STONE COLD ZOMG threads.

In other words the Wrestling Forum's administration employs something not unlike the School of Salamanca's development of natural law. Are you a member of the Salmanticenses, JM, or of the Conimbricenses?

I am presently once again reading St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica and attempting to reconcile the findings of Aquinas's with the political and sociological order of Wrestling Forum today.

Thanks. I just have had a few ideas for what would essentially be comparison threads that I feel would make for some interesting discussions. If you folks disagree then I can't stop you from closing them.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
