Re: FIVE COUNT: Five Lessons To Be Learned From WWE's TV Ratings Including Brand Split Effect, Cena & Lesnar Effect, The Importance of Them + More
All of this is nonsense. Ratings have been dropping for 15 years. Just because sticking everyone on Raw makes the views increase doesn't make it the right decision. There are countless factors to take into consideration. Besides, it is easier to take a smaller roster and let the talent shine than it is to have a bloated roster where no one besides a few guys are in the hunt. It devalues the roster.
Not to mention that ratings are taken from a fraction of everyone watching. And the fact that shows will be renamed when they know a bad rating is on the way, so the lower rating does not affect their overall numbers. You need to have something to go on, but taking a small percentage of the total audience, and then dictating television based on that is ridiculous. I don't have a Neilson box, so all those times I watched Raw, Smackdown, Impact, ECW, NXT, whatever, it didn't count. So when it comes to bashing the brand split because of ratings, in my opinion, fuck off.
