(Due to it being a 90's lit, HBK/Taker WM 25 is not on this list. That would make 11. With that out of the way
Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect. King of the Ring semifinals, 1993
This match, even with Perfect's back being what it was, was a full star better than their Summerslam 91 encounter. Bret sells the finger injuries brilliantly, and Perfect sells the leg. A great back and forth match, with Bret winning the match by small package counter (Bret and Curt were awesome together) and the sportsmanlike handshake at the end. What is it with Bret and the barricade spot, though?
Ric Flair vs. Arn Anderson, Fall Brawl 95
The psychology of this match is off the charts...I even was believin' that Flair was turning face after the Pillman interference. Flair was able to get the figure-4 in the middle of he ring, but Arn summoned up all his strength, reversed it on Flair, and won. The only thing that keeps this match from getting 5 stars from me was he Pillman interference.
Shawn Michaels (IC Champ) vs. Bret "the Hitman" Hart (c) Survvor Series 1992.
While the Iron Man match was good, and we won't even talk about Montreal, this for me is the match that put Shawn on the map. Great back and forth match, with Shawn even hitting the superkick, which wasn't his finisher yet, but if I didn't know better as a casual fan, I would be beliving that old HBK would be walking out the champ.
Bret vs Owen, Wrestlemania X
I don't even think I need to say anything here. Also from that same shw, the ladder match with HBK vs Razor
Bret Vs 1-2-3 Kid, RAW 7/11/94
Bret really had me believe that the Kid could wrest that title away. His show of sportsmanship made the match better, but only prolonged the inevitable.
Austin vs Steamboat DQ rule waived WCW Clash of the Champions http://network.wwe.com/video/v323538...Context=series
Great match with Steamboat teasing a DQ victory for him to get the title, only for him to roll Austin up for the 1 2 3. The only thing that keeps me from putting this match higher if I were ranking them all is the announcers focused too much on the Hogan attack, and less on the match.
HBK vs Owen, IYH 6
We all knew Shawn was winning the title at Mania here, and the match was brilliant, but wouldn't an HBK/Owen/Bret triple threat have been epic?
HBK vs Jarrett, IHY2
sAY WHAT YOU WILL about Jarrett, the man can go in the ring.
Lynn/Credible Heatwave 98
I'll just come out and say this right now...THE BEST opener at a PPV OTHER of course than Bret vs Owen at Mania X
HBK vs Janetty Raw 5/17/93
Match of the year, marred only by Perfect's interference.
So those are the 90'S matches I watch with great regularity. What abut you guys?
