Re: TRANQUILO! ASSEN NA YO! The Rise of Tetsuya Naito as NJPW's MVP

Great article

So I'm pretty new to NJPW and WK11 was the first event I really decided to sit down and watch after all the hype. From the moment I saw Naito come out something just drew me too him. I just loved the fact that he walked around with a I don't give a fuck attitude and could back it up in the ring. He's already b favourite guy on the roster and would love to see him go far.

I also wanna go back and watch a few matches of his from previous years. Outside the Omega/Naito match from G1 and the Okada matches is there any matches anyone recommends I check out?

The Michael Elgin match from New Beginning in Osaka
His match with Kota Ibushi from the New Japan Cup from 2015 was awesome
His match with Tanahashi from October 2011 was amazing
He teamed with Tanahashi vs. Okada and Nakamura in December 2013
Vs. AJ Styles from the 2015 G1

Fantastic article and retrospective. I agree that Naito will never be the top Ace that NJPW had intended on him being despite him being the most popular he's ever been but he's a strong number 2.

Love your obsession with Little Miss Bliss. Besides Omega v. Naito and the ones that Rainmaka! mentioned, I also enjoyed these matches from Naito:

Katsuyori Shibata v. Tetsuya Naito - G1 Climax 26 - Day 8
Tetsuya Naito v. EVIL - G1 Climax 26 - Day 14

Definitely not on the level of Omega/Naito as far as match quality but it's worth the watch.

And, what a detailed article, Rainmaka! I loved it. Tetsuya Naito's transformation is one of my favorite Heel turns of all time, along with The New Day. His character as a disrespectful, egotistical Heel makes it that much better, especially since it's done in Japan. The way he carries the IWGP IC Title and throws it on the floor clearly proves that.

Not to mention that he's the leader of one the hottest Heel stables in NJPW right now ever since Devitt/Styles became leader of BC. His story is a miracle honestly and WWE should take notes to possibly test it with their Samoan "golden boy." And yes, I believe Tetsuya Naito is a much better Heel than Minoru Suzuki, The Miz, Charlotte, etc.

An article for Kenny Omega and his journey (leader of the Bullet Club, G1 Climax, six-star match, etc.) to the IWGP Heavyweight Title would be cool to read!

His evolution is truly a spectacle. I swear those Mexican excursions do wonders for these guys. Okada, NATO, Nakamura, Hiromu are a testament to that.

If Yoshi Tatsu comes back as an elite wrestler then they're true miracle workers.
