The Woo chants were fine when Ric was in the ring. But with Charlotte it needs to stop ASAP.

WM9 was the right ending. Bret was drawing flies as champion and they wanted to see if they could milk one last ounce of value out of Hulk Hogan.
Rocks not been champion majority of last 9 years so not a good comparison. It would be more akin to Cena coming in at the end of Wrestlemania 30 and beating Bryan in about 10 seconds.

If business skyrocketed once belt was put on Hogan fair enough but it did not

I love the narrative that always comes with these "WY BRETT SOO BITTRR?" threads, like as if Bret's just standing on a stage by himself spouting off all this stuff from out of nowhere. He's ASKED about these things, so he ANSWERS, and people just can't seem to handle his blunt and honest answers. If that ruffles feathers, well, tough shit. I respect Bret for being honest and having no sugarcoat filter.

It's not Bret's fault that podcast hosts and interviewers can't seem to get off of shit that happened decades ago. I'm a journalist who interviews people all the time, so I know full well that we help set the narrative with our line of questioning.
Spot on

Also yea that Wrestlemania 9 moment pissed me off as a kid and I was 11 years old at the time, and Bret was a huge favourite of mine. To be fair the match between Bret and Yokozuna was actually pretty good until the end. The storytelling in that match on how Bret tried to bring down Yokozuna was storytelling you don;t see these days. But that ending soured me so bad. Which is funny because I actually hated Hogan as a kid, so you can imagine my frustration :P

I can listen to Bret telling his stories and sharing his views on his life and career for hours.

He tells it like he sees it. It's his perspective of things, objectively narrated, whether you agree with him or not.

And he is absolutely right about both topics in discussion here, as usual.

"Hey Ric, if you do a chop to my chest, I am going to punch you in the face."

Jesus Christ, so... he took Flair's most iconic move and said "don't do it." Interesting. Would Bret even do well in today's wrestling world? With how stiff people are nowadays? "WALTER if you chop me one more time I swear I'll shoot on you!"

I dont understand how or why chops are even allowed.

Wrestling is a work; you are not supposed to hurt the guy you are working with for real, and the chops do just that.

Did Bret ever wrestle Vader? Can't imagine that would've went well. I know HBK got in his feelings about being hit by Vader.

Shilling for Xia Li, Aliyah, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley

What about when he wrestled Benoit? Did Chris not do his chops?

Bryan at WM30 isn't a good comparison either considering he had nowhere near Bryan's same level of popularity
