What moment from the summer of 1996 in wrestling was better: Hogan's heel turn or Austins 3:16 speech
In 1996 wrestling was in a bit of a down period, sure there were bright spots in both promotions but overalls things were bad.
Still that summer we had 2 moments that changed things forever, the Austin King of the Ring speech at King of the Ring 1996 that laid ground for the rise of Austin. Then 2 weeks later we had Hogan's heel turn which led to the formation of the NWO.
So 2 big moments, my ? for everyone is which moment was bigger?
For me it's the Hogan heel turn, that move shook up wrestling right away, Hogan wasn't supposed to go heel but he did. He did that and it showed anything, indeed, could happen in wrestling.
Looking forward to your thoughts on this.
