What would've happened to Hogan if.....

so let's just pretend Warrior never came on the scene......

what would have happened to Hogan going into the early 90's??

was there anyone else on the roster that could have challenged his popularity the way Warrior did?

it seemed as if Hulk was losing some steam but i'm not so sure if it was a direct result of Warrior being around. could Vince have used Savage as "the next guy" or did that ship already sail? or would Savage not have wanted that?

or would they have pushed Bret sooner? Bret won the IC title at sumerslam 91 and was picking up steam. so maybe they stick bret with hogan after summerslam 92?

i'm just trying to have some fun and speculate.

No one else could have challenged Hogan's popularity back then. Without Warrior, Wrestlemania 6 is likely just another case of him going over the annual heel with the big boot, leg drop

I've always wondered who his opponent for WM6 would have been though, if not Warrior. Maybe a HEEL Ultimate Warrior? Nah, that's retarded

I think they should have gave Mr.Perfect a run with the title during that time. He was 1 of their best heels in the early 90's so a title reign for him would have made sense.

re: What would've happened to Hogan if.....

I don't think things would have changed much, only Hogan would have carried the belt longer. Possibly without the infusion of Warrior business would have suffered more; losing ground to NWA/WCW.
But otherwise:
-Hogan defeats Mr Perfect at WM6 (possibly after Perfect wins the Rumble by eliminating him)
-Hogan feuds with Earthquake
-Hogan feuds with Slaughter
-Hogan feuds with Undertaker
Then Flair arrives

i was wondering that exact same thing which led me to go a bit further and wonder what would have happened in those early 90 years.

i guess you are probably right in that Hogan would take the annual heel until when 92 or 93?

i mean would WM6 be too early for his opponent to have been Earthquake? when did he make his debut, was it late 89 I think?

even with that though....how much longer would the fans accept Hogan as the FOTC. i get it that it's hogan but after a while i think the fans would have wanted to see a change.

i wouldn't have minded that at all! perfect was such a great heel, he had the PERFECT gimmick!

he even feuded w/ hogan leading up to the 90 rumble so it would have made sense

They would have found ways to screw him out of the belt when he needed a break or time off to film movies and he would come back and beat the top heel (over 6'5" of course) at the next Wrestlemania.

I think Perfect screwing Hogan out of the title would have been the way to go. He gives Hogan the Perfect Plex so Hogans feet end up near the ropes and the genius grabs on from outside to hold the legs down. A bit like Heenan did to Warrior at WM5. Then in the rematch its Hogan\Perfect in a cage so the Genius cant interfere.

Bruiser Brody was going to be that guy.
He was planning on making the jump to WWF, and apparently it was going to be him vs Hogan instead of Warrior.
But then he got ... you know... murdered.

A full blown Hogan vs Rick Rude feud would have been legendary.
