Jake The Snake's DDT

The way he used to apply this move is a thing of beauty. It looks like it does hurt and much respect to the Snake.

Jake, The Snake, Roberts... what an awesome personality! He taught Undertaker the psychology behind wrestling and man, it was so damn effective.

Give me a Jake's DDT over anyone else's in today's wrestling. The way he does it feels so damn intense.

Re: Jake The Snake's DDT

It really is a thing of beauty watching Jake slam a DDT onto someone... Just so many little things he did, maybe even the way he uses his loose arm and adds that extra whip as he drops down... just puts some extra 'sizzle' on it...

Re: Jake The Snake's DDT

What a pro. It was so great the way his DDT was so built up in to this thing that ended matches with no chance for the recipient. Virgil got quite a few lol.

"You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait."

"I backed him. You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, 'Mitt, drop to your knees.' He would have dropped to his knees."

"You oughta see this guy - 'uh, I don't know what I said, uh, I don't remember,'"

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

"He is a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

At the risk of sounding cheesy as hell...

There's a reason Roberts' DDT is THE DDT while anyone else is a DDT.

The short clothesline was a great set up for him. His DDT is not just the greatest DDT by miles it is truly one of my favorite finishers of all time.

Re: Jake The Snake's DDT

Him and Arn Anderson are the gold standard for DDTs. It's a shame that dropping someone on their head has now become a standard move.

Re: Jake The Snake's DDT

In my opinion, Roberts' DDT and Orndorff's piledriver were awesome finishers until they'd become "regular" moves today. I mean, it irks me whenever I see a wrestler get up from a DDT. It's a total non-selll.

Re: Jake The Snake's DDT

It's always so trippy when finishers become a common spot.
The DDT was a good move for Jake since you can do it literally falling backwards drunk.
