What if Triple H never returned from his injury in 2002?

What direction the company would have taken in the RA era? Would they have gone with Angle as the top guy or may be Jericho? How would things have been different? Discuss.

The current Universal Champion would have still been the direction as he was called "The Next Big Thing" in 2002 going over Rock for the championship 6 months in.

Stone Cold win the Rumble for 4th times and become WrestleMania main event for 4th times too

Booker T and RVD would've been alive today.

Thinking RVD may have been more of a factor as well. Possibly even winning the 2002 Royal Rumble. This certainly sets up all sorts of possibilities including does Shawn Michaels comeback that yr. as well?

Rob Van Dam would've been the face of the WWF.

The "Summer of Punk" wouldn't have been derailed?

Well... maybe more accurately, as derailed?

there wouldn't have been the reign of terror in 2002-2004 so that's a good start

Re: What if Triple H never returned from his injury in 2002?

Would there have even been the brand split? The RAW title was very much brought about because of some three initial wrestlers ego, for me the brand split and all the daftness diluted a lot of the product that includes the prestige of titles to silly things like the draft
they never had a brand split in say 1987-1988 and had perhaps just as strong perhaps stronger team, to answer all those questions that's why the likes of Rick Rude, Jake Roberts, never held the title

Jericho, Booker T, RVD were all made to look very weak which hurt their overall popularity, sure someone has to to win/lose but it can be done in a style to keep them competitive and relevant

Even without Triple H its a massively strong roster-Undertaker, the upcoming Brock Lesnar who had more than three moves back in those days, the legendary Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, The Rock, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle etc
Plus all the talent which would develop to later become champions-Eddy Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Jeff Hardy, Edge etc
