isnt that just so true? I was watching collateral last night, and he said
LA, 17 million people. If this were a country, it'd be the fifth biggest economy in the world and nobody knows each other. I read about this guy, gets on the MTA here, dies. Six hours he's riding the subway before anybody notices his corpse doing laps around L.A., people on and off sitting next to him. Nobody notices.
such a realistic representation of the world we live in.
its quite sad how disconnected we these days, no-one really knows each other, the world is getting a lonelier place by the day tbh. Social media keeps people connected whilst also discouraging them from really bothering with each other, chances are most people don't bother really keeping in contact with people because "hey, doesnt matter, we are friends on facebook".There is no real consequence to not keeping in touch compared to years ago where people could literally disappear if you didnt keep in contact.
same with relationships, people are so quick to drop someone because temptation is only a click away, there is so much distrust around because of social media. Everyone is connected to everyone, there is no barriers. People can flirt with each other without even really admitting it. You dont have to physically pick up a phone or walk up to someone to speak to them. Liking someones picture would be called flirting now, Its all so passive.
some days, I think it would probably be the best thing for us as a species if some EMP wiped out our electronics. People would certainly start interacting with each other again and treat each other with value.
computers have been one of the greatest inventions of anybody's lifetime.......yet its possibly also one of the worst. Society is dying in many ways. Its really no secret why people are so unhappy in this day and age.
