Re: Has someone quit of all social media successfully?

I'm on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram but I barely use all three. Twitter I would use now and again, Instagram I would use once in a blue moon and then I only really use Facebook for lurking and keeping in touch with family members I barely see nowadays but I could easily deactivate it.

I've never used Whats App or Snapchat though and never will.

Yes, I quit in 2016.

This is one of the best decisions you can ever make. Twitter is pretty awful, but Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are cancerous.

Always on top

Re: Has someone quit of all social media successfully?

I don't have any social media. Tried myspace for a couple weeks and had a facebook for about 3 or 4 months. Got rid of them both because I just really didn't care for them and didn't use them enough.

I've thought about joining twitter because NBA twitter seems like it could be a good time.

Overall I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by not being on social media.

Haven't in years. If you count message boards, I've been around those for periods of time for personal amusement/time wasting.

Deleted all of them in around 2015. But it really doesn't make much of a difference unless you abstain from excessive use of internet. I'm not talking about giving it up entirely but developing a self discipline can help.

Closest I have gotten is I deleted my entire old facebook with all photos included. I made a new one just for messenger and only have about 15 friends on it, I also don't like any pages or that shit

Re: Has someone quit of all social media successfully?

i joined twitter back in 2012, made a few posts but never really returned. facebook was a no-go the moment everyone back in college started peer pressuring me to make one, which made me resist it from the beginning.

also, as someone who already withdrew from people, social media would've done nothing but fuel those instrusive/obsessive thoughts. i'm just grateful for reaching adulthood before the whole thing took off because social media is pure chaos & sensationalism 24/7. at least with forums, there's more of a purpose and common goal (discussions and shared interests).

I run a few side gigs that involve social media so I can't really. Though I wish I could.
