What celebrity deaths have saddened/affected you the most?

Outside of wrestling related ones, of course. This is the off-topic section, after all.

99% of the time I don't get worked up about celebrities dying, even ones whose work I've enjoyed. Plus a lot of those whose work I enjoyed weren't exactly young anymore when they died, so it wasn't that big of a shock. Like Lemmy from Motörhead, for example. If anything, it's VERY SURPRISING how long he's lived considering his life style. Christopher Lee also died pretty old, so it wasn't a huge shock either.

So I can only think of a couple of ones:

Eusébio: Well he wasn't particularly young anymore. He was 72 years old when he died already and had had some health issues in the few years prior to his death, particularly heart issues. He drank a lot and that catches up to you sooner or later. It was sad, ofc, since I'm a Benfica fan and he's Benfica's biggest legend and Portugal's biggest football legend. He's to us what Pelé is to Brazil, Maradona to Argentina and Puskas to Hungary. But it wasn't that big of a shock considering his age and health issues. But obviously, the media talked about it constantly for a few days and people talked about his death everywhere for a couple of days. I've changed my avatar to him when that happened in January 2014 and haven't changed it since then. More out of laziness, tbh. I think at this point this avatar fits me and it's how people identify me on these forums. So no point in changing it.

Miklos Fehér: He died on the pitch LIVE ON TV during a Benfica match in early 2004 against Vitória Guimarăes. He was pretty young. It was a shock to me. I was onyl 13 years old at the time and seeing someone die like that really shook me. Everyone was shocked, the players and manager were crying, the game had to finish a few minutes before the actual time, the media talked about it for days. It was surreal and really sad. Benfica won that game... but that win felt like a defeat since we lost something much more important that night which made us realise football is not the most important thing in the world.

Other than that, can't think of others that have particularly affected me. Although I wonder how I'll react when people like Bruce Dickinson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hugh Laurie eventually die. Those guys just seem "immortal" to me... but so did Christopher Lee, Lemmy and Ronnie James Dio.

Robin Williams and Anthony Bourdain also were a bit sad, considering both men struggled with depression. I was particularly surprised by Bourdain's death. I liked his show and he seemed like a really nice individual. Really sad.

Chester from linkin park. I honestly could never understand how someone could mourn for someone they never met. His passing really hit me hard though. As a kid growing up I never really felt like I fit anywhere. And linkin park came along and couldn't really be categorized as rap or rock so it kind of felt like it was made just for me..I still can't listen to their music to this day

Don't generally care about celebrities, but there are a few...

Mitch Hedberg. One of the funniest men that ever lived and, for a time, it seemed he'd gotten the best of his drug-related demons. Gone far, far too soon.

Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. Both lived full lives, of course, but theirs are some of my all-time favorite movies, and I have fond memories of watching movies like The Odd Couple and Grumpy Old Men with my dad.

Marc Vivian Foe I remember died similarly to this and I was very affected by it.

As a Newcastle fan Tiote and Srníček deaths hurt.

Amy Winehouse might have been the worst though.

Both are believed to have succumbed to the demons brought upon by childhood abuse. Which reminds me that not all wounds heal and no everyone "gets over" traumatic events.

STP was rhe soundtrack to my angry teen years. Linkin Park to my young adulthood, finding my way.

For me, I'm only 30, so not a lot of famous people I've loved have died, but besides in wrestling, I can think of 2. Amy Winehouse, and Mac Miller.
