Just for the record, folks, this here is an example of one of those legitimate criticisms we keep hearing about that we should be able to discuss maturely and not respond to negatively. It needs to be pointed out because AEW fans are so overly-sensitive about anything sincerely critical of their precious wrestling promotion.

Might I also take this opportunity to introduce you to the newest entry on my ignore list.
lmao I didnt get it was irony first lol

I like the idea of calling it the Television Title. It would work as a mid-card title without having to be one as the top stars are already in the main title hunts and thus on television regularly so could not want the television title, but undercard acts who are not on television regularly or midcard acts who want to get noticed would think it was important to get the title to get on television regularly to get noticed and to get in regular important matches to build up their records.

My problem with midcard titles is that it always seems to be two things.

1. Something a main event guy holds when we're sick of him holding the main title.

2. A hard ceiling for a lower card guy.

It's rarely ever used as a transition of a lower card guy to a main event spot. If you don't think a midcard guy can be a main event guy eventually, don't give him the title cuz it just makes the main event guys look stupid when they hold it.

In the world of WWE, yeah. Ideally it should be a transitional title for strong up-and-comers or established main-event guys who aren’t in the main title picture, just to give that ‘midcard’ title (whatever they’re going to call it) a little more luster. Kind of like the IC title used to be way back when, when WWE/F titles actually meant something.

Re: Weekly Top Five contender rankings, and "new prize" coming to AEW...

Everyone company eventually does their own version of a WWE staple like The Rumble or KOTR, so I hope AEW does the same.

I loved Lucha Underground. They introduced their own "mid card" title called the Gift of the Gods Championship. It was a match where you had 7 medallions, and once all 7 medallions were held by by an individual person, those 7 people would then compete in a big match all at once to determine who would be champion.

The Championship even had like magnets in it to keep the medallions in place. And once someone had the title, they could "cash in" the championship for a World Title Shot. Now, I don't know if this would work for AEW with their ranking system. But I think it's a super creative idea. And I want to see someone else use it.

LU also had their version of the Rumble called Aztec Warfare where you would have guys come in 1 at a time but it was pin fall and submission based as opposed to throwing people over the top rope.

If you haven't figured me out, I really miss Lucha Underground .

But the point is, you can take a concept like MITB or the Rumble and make it really unique and interesting. And I hope AEW does the same. And hopefull it goes better than their first new idea that Casino Battle Royale, because that hasn't clicked for me.

You and me both. It's what I was alluding to with the idea of Battlebowl being for one ring, and 2-3 other matches for rings and then collecting all of them for a title shot.

As for battle royales, I've always thought the F2 should then be decided by pinfall or submission. F2 in BR's is always anti climatic to me, with the usual spots. I'd also think about keeping the eliminated wrestlers ringside to act as lumberjacks for the F2. It would add an interesting dynamic further with hurt feelings of those now lumberjacks possibly being eliminated by one of the F2. Also the lumberjacks could play favorites during the BR portion and try and save folks from touching the floor, while others try to interfere and distract and lead to eliminations. You could have some folks catching a thrown over wrestler trying to save them and keep them in the match, while other lumberjacks try to knock them over so the live wrestler touches the ground and is eliminated.
