So, who will be the first champions?

And how many titles do you think there will be?

The world title was unveiled last night and we know that Jericho and Hangman will do battle for it. It's pretty obvious that Jericho is winning it. You put your top title on your most well-known star as you head into your big fall TV deal.

But what about the other titles? When will they be unveiled and how many? And who will win them?

I presume there will be...

1. A midcard title. MJF looks like a good bet to win this one. Either him or Hangman.

2. Tag titles. I don't know about this, with the Bucks still keeping the AAA titles.

3. A women's title. Kylie Rae got over in that match last night and would serve as a decent contrast to the heels holding the men's titles, but Britt Baker won the match so she probably has a stronger chance, even though she wasn't as over.

I'm of the opinion they wont have a mid card title for at least some time, I think they will roll with 3 for a while.

World
Tag
Women

as for the first champs ill go with

World : Jericho
Tag : Lucha Bros
Women : Sadie Gibbs

I'd like to see them have:

World Heavyweight
IC Title
World Tag Titles
TV Title
Women's title

Have Jericho hold the world title, have a heel and a well known name establish that title as the first champ, and give someone like Hangman a chase for the title.
MJF to hold the IC title

I don't know enough about the tag teams and other guys and women to hold those titles just yet

Their tag division is absolutely stacked.

Bucks
Lucha Broa
Best Friends
Aneglico/Evans
Rhodes Brothers
Super Smash Brothers
Strong hearts
SCU

They need titles asap. I would assume all champions will be crowned at All Out.

Re: So, who will be the first champions?

I wouldn't expect a midcard title right away or any time soon. I think it will be Elite World Champion, Elite Women's Champion and Elite Tag Team Champions. With only two hours a week and PPV's only every 3-4 months the midcard doesn't need a "crutch" title. WWE has so many titles to give fake meaning to op-up matches/feuds to fill PPV cards every month.

I'm not a fan of Jericho vs Page getting the title match. I think it's obvious it was going to be PAC vs Omega here, but PAC couldn't commit to losing come August' All Out event because of his DG commitment. That mach is so much better than Jericho vs Page, especially if the former is going over. I mean I'm sure Jericho and co will have me fully engaged and believing that maybe just maybe Page could have the rocket strapped to him come the event. But Omega vs PAC had the chance to be MOTY on in-ring alone.

I'll go Jericho is the first ever Elite World Champion. I don't think the Bucks will put the titles on themselves first because of potential backlash. Either Penta/Fenix or even a darkhorse like SSB given the debut they got last night. Women I don't have much of a clue - maybe somebody not yet officially announced as signed like Tenille.

I'd like to see tournaments to award the first title holders. Omega vs Jericho and a pre-show battle royale winner does not establish much prestige to the title from the start.

Omega vs Jericho and Page vs PAC 4 man tournament was a little better as initially planned I guess, but still no reason they couldn't have each had a first round match to have made it an 8 man tournament at least.

I mean they did that for the Elite World Title, so they can't fall back to a bigger way to crown tag and women's champions without denigrating their own World Title in the process.

Re: So, who will be the first champions?

The World Title obviously, with Jericho being the obvious choice for inaugural champion. He's the most well-known performer that they have right now, a legend in the business for decades, and if you want to draw some causal viewers/lapsed WWE fans to the product potentially, then Jericho being champ when they debut on TNT is the obvious choice.

The Tag Titles, either The Young Bucks or Angelico/Evans is my guess for the first champions.

The Women's Title, after last night, Britt Baker seems like the frontrunner to win it first, although perhaps they might go with Hikaru Shida potentially.

Some kind of midcard title, there's a reason why pretty much all major promotions have them and always have. Also it'd be a great opportunity for up and comers like Page or MJF to show off what they can do without being thrust into the top spot too early, or some older veterans like Daniels or Kazarian to be feature potentially.

Re: So, who will be the first champions?

World title: Jericho seems the safe bet Page isn't quite world champion ready though if AEW build him right he can be.

Midcard title (assuming it happens which to be honest with how many names are on this roster seems a smart call provided it's booked better than WWE): MJF or if you'd rather a face champion first then Hangman Page the 2 with the most potential to be serious future stars though MJF gets my personal vote

Tag titles: The Young Bucks very hard to see past them despite how talented the whole division is from what I've seen

Women's title: race of 3 between Shida, Allie and Baker I believe though Kylie is a star in the making she's a chaser rather than a first champ type. Out of those Baker seems to be in the lead as it were with her big win in the fatal 4 way.

Re: So, who will be the first champions?

Only problem with Jericho as first world champ is that he's losing to Okada soon. Sucks having your champ lose to the champ of another promotion, but Okada is Okada so it probably doesn't matter that much.

They could go in so many directions for women and tag belts, I'd say just keep the tag belts off the Bucks as they don't need it and it'll make people question the booking right out the gate. If there's a midcard belt give it to MJF

Cody lost to Okada while ROH Champion, but that didn't stop them from putting the title on him beforehand.

Re: So, who will be the first champions?

Yeah, they need a midcard title, both to get people line Hangman and MJF ready, and because they'd have a lot of people without much to do if there wasn't one. It would be a mistake not to have one.

I barely even know them and last night made me intensely interested in a Page vs. MJF feud, but that's not really what you'd want to build your world title around as you head into your big TV deal. Not when Jericho, Omega, and Mox are there.
