Re: This video absolutely ruined Mcmahon's run at Senate....
Not that I give a flying shit about Linda's political ambitions, but I find it of no real surprise that they left out Eugene's good moments. Like when he is being bullied out of the arena by Coach, only to be saved by one of the biggest superstars in the industry - The Rock. Or when he's out at WM21 only to be interupted by Muhammad Hassan - then is saved by arguably the biggest superstar the industry ever had in Hulk Hogan. These are great feel good moments.
Bad things happen to good people in all forms of entertainment to further enhance the "feel good" moment at the end of the tunnel. What they've done here is basically leave out the feel good moments and just flung in the bad parts.
They will argue that this is derogatory to disabled people the World over. I say bullshit. I say if anything, Eugene probably became a role model for a lot of people in that position in life. Eugene's character was about dreams coming true against adversity, not about humiliating someone who was being portrayed as mentally challenged.
If the WWE are smart they will get immediately on it with a video package explaining and showing that.
I'm as cynical as they come, but when Eugene wrestled HHH for the title on RAW, it almost brought a tear to my eye. The ultimate underdog almost becoming the champion, I mean, you can't get better than that in terms of telling a story.
I'm surprised that they didn't turn Eugene heel in a "ringer" gimmick.
As far as using WWE footage against Linda, the Katie Vick angle is probably the most damaging.
