Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for WrestleMania?

I find it strange that Punk isn't part of the "best for business" storyline. In fact, he's very conspicuously NOT a part of it, to the point where even in 11 on 3 matches, Punk, who is somewhere between 1st and 4th in terms of overall popularity, isn't even one of the 11. On top of that, WWE is well aware of how much people have wanted to see a major rivalry between Punk and Bryan. Do you think WWE is saving Punk vs Bryan for the road to Wrestlemania? I mean they could keep Orton vs Bryan going that whole time, or they could end Orton vs Bryan sometime around the Royal Rumble, leaving Bryan vs Punk for mania. What do you guys think?

I hope we see a Punk and Bryan feud again, last year's feud was screwed up by AJ imo... Hopefully Punk will be the heel this time, and Bryan as the babyface.. Don't know if it will happen at WretleMania, hopefully it happens soon.

Yeah that's why he's currently the top guy in WWE, because he doesn't draw fpalm

Why do people keep saying that? Vince will never let Punk vs Bryan mainevent WM, having them feud for WM30 would make absolutely no sense for a lot of reasons, mainly:

1- One of them needs to main event WM, Vince will never book them in the main-event together unless its a triple threat with Cena.
2- BOTH need a big WM win, putting them against each other means one of them has to job.
3- They just had a fued last year, one of the big complaints last year was how WM29 was Rematchmania, this time we want Wrestlemania 30 not Rematchmania 2.
4- Punk just turned babyface & Bryan just got his big push, a face vs face feud sucks.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

let's look at the worst case scenarios here for us Daniel bryan fans that could try to compete with the drawing power of the rock vs cena for wm 30. I mean really now we don't wanna see a pathetic buy rate for a wrestlemania 30 for crying out loud in comparison to 28 and 29 for the closing show
1.John cena vs Orton-nope
2.Triple H vs John Cena-nope
3.Punk vs Triple H-nope(well I can see it but most likely not
I'm sorry I only see Cena vs taker as the only thing saving the buy rate for this year's wrestlemania
I mean the rock was the one responsible for the recent buyrates. I mean really do you think they got over 1 million buys from people just to see Miz vs Cena for the wwe title at wm 27
very interesting to see what the buyrate would be without the rock this year

unless they bring in rock as the special guest referee for the punk vs bryan match. Rock as referee>Punk vs bryan match in terms of buy rates. A little back in time from raw 1000 when they were in the same ring. What do you guys think?

Can somebody tell me where this illusion of Bryan and Punk main eventing Wrestlemania next year for the title has come from? I see it everywhere yet WWE has not even hinted at it or anything.
Punk wet dreamers trying anything they possibly can to get their 2nd City Savior in the main event storyline. Dont worry, this is all ego defect, thats it. People are pissed beyond compare that someone NOT Punk is in the biggest story, so they have concocted this scenario where he WILL eventually be in the storyline with Bryan. To them, it isnt a matter of "if." It's already "When."

I think Punk could ultimately lose the Heyman feud and turn heel again by next year. Probably not the best thing but I could see it happening if they want to protect Ryback enough. But like... even with a full heel Punk it still makes no sense for him to face Bryan. Bryan has HHH lined up hook and sinker for him at WM. It would be funny if they pulled a reverse Summer of Punk and had Punk take HHH's spot in the main arc of the story and just cast HHH off to the side though :lol

But anyways, It's just a dream WM match for some people and especially the IWC. The mark war in and of itself would elevate to something special/disastrous on here and it'd be HUGE.
WWE has pulled out random as fuck storylines around WM season to get dream matches on the card before.
Thing is here if WWE considers this to be worthy of all of that or not.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

Punk AND Bryan are both draws, look at Raw's numbers, those two guys are the only ones that never lose viewers each week, so they are draws. Has anyone thought of the fact that maybe the two Summerslams were low with those two main eventing was because of Cena? nobody wants to see Cena in the main event as champion anymore. Most of the buys for both of those years (2011 and 2013) came because of Punk and Bryan....look at the whole year, Cena main eventing isn't a draw anymore....so its not Punk or Bryan that is the problem..

You can't blame Cena for the buy rates, and you can't blame Punk or Bryan. They clearly aren't the reason here.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

you guys are hilarious for continuing to blame Bryan and Punk for the shitty business of the WWE..they sell a shit load of merchandise and people come to see both of them...so i think they aren't getting blamed for jack shit...you guys are hilarious.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

Everybody seems to be forgetting that Cena was in that SS match too. Ratings have been steadily decline for years with him as the face of the company and while there might be some merit to doubts about Bryan's ability to earn, Cena certainly deserves some of the blame as well. His return isn't going to fix the numbers.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

Cena has been on top for years and people are tired of it so they stopped buying shit because they figured he'd win all the time..it takes longer than the summer time for business to turn around and for people to notice how much better it is without him, it takes time...either way they're fucked for the time being...it'll take awhile to build a new guy that can draw and numbers will remain down with Cena on top..so either way they have to wait it out until things turn around...probably next year.....until then, just be patient...nothing is Bryan's fault..clearly everyone loves him, they'll come around.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

It's silly to talk about Wrestlemania main events this early, and there is no way that two non-Cena full-timer will main event Mania 30, but it would be cool to see it happen. I mean c'mon! CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are more over than everyone else in the company, including the part-timers.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

also, Summerslam was only based upon two matches...The way they picked Bryan as like a contest winner was also stupid, so I agree with Meltzer on that fact..also, there was only one Miz TV segment that made it look like a credible feud, and nobody knew about Cena's injury so they figured he'd win again, and also Orton kept threatening with the briefcase so people figured he'd come in and steal it from the winner any way. it was booked badly. and nobody thought Punk stood a chance against Lesnar..the whole event was just not built up right and it showed. The fact that people say Bryan isn't a draw is bullshit, because look at all the Yes signs at raw and all of his tee shirts people wear....who cares if people don't fucking order a PPV? Raws are better any way most of the time. and you can stream shit online.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

The WWE likely doesn't give a shit about Night of Champions or Battleground....so buyrates are not even an issue. they're just pleased that the ratings are staying consistent during the NFL, can't be nothing but proud of that fact...and Survivor Series and Royal Rumble are probably the ones they'll go all out for.

Re: Is WWE saving Punk v Bryan for Wrestlemania?

As much as I love Punk, I don't see why everyone is thinking a 1 on 1 is gonna happen as a co-main event between him and Bryan at Mania. They're both the biggest faces in the company right now and turning one of them heel would be horrendous. Punk can really only sell matches as a heel unless he is working with a really really good heel and we all know Bryan isn't one.

I think by the time WM is here, a Bryan/Punk match will be credible enough to sell a co-main event, but I'm just not really sure what the hell the feud would be about..
