Re: About Doink The Clown

I reckon he should've compared him to Chris Benoit. I think the similarities are apparent (similar build and moveset etc). He could've said, "About 10 years ago we had a guy just like you. Heck, he even beat me for the title at Wrestlemania XX. Didn't work out so great for business". A bit of a sensitive area, I guess, but I didn't like to hear him bashing good old Doink.

Re: About Doink The Clown

I had no problem with it whatsoever. It was a legitimate point. Allowing a clown to be WWE champion would have been ridiculous, and bad for business.

Technically, he was referring to babyface Doink, who was played by Ray Apollo, not Matt Osborne.

It shocked me only because I heard of the death of the man who portrayed Doink The Clown and they totally just shit on his character that they forced him into on air.

They should have Ryder do the gimmick and bury him every week.

That'd have been the most uncomfortable promo to watch of all time after that comment.

Re: About Doink The Clown

He didn't say they didn't put the belt on him. He implied that they didn't give him a chance to go after the belt because that would've been bad for business. Did not break Kayfabe at all, because, well, they can decide who gets a tittle shot and not.
