Re: Why are they turning Barrett into a comedy character?

The Miz/Jericho/Barrett promo on Raw last night was embarrassingly bad. Even Michael Cole buried it in his commentary.

WWE has no clue what to do with Barrett. He should be a top heel but they refuse to book him as such. So he's left to job to anyone and that devalues the midcard title that he is currently holding.

Didn't think that Raw promo between the 3 was that bad. On the bright side Jericho will most probley put him over at WrestleMania

Top 5.

1. Sheamus
2. Brock Lesnar
3. Cm Punk
4. Bray Wyatt
5. The Shield

I'm known as 'Scottish-Throw' when introduced by Michael Cole.

Because they need him to be more then the heel who always looses for the films promotion, also he does the role very well, like most areas of wrestling.

Re: Why are they turning Barrett into a comedy character?

I've actually enjoyed this light-hearted side of Barrett - he's showed more personality in the last couple of weeks than he has in any period since Nexus. I wouldn't call him a comedy character yet, but WWE need to give him some kind of solid programme to establish momentum or he'll just keep drifting in the midcard.

"Well sir, I guess there's just a meanness in this world..."

He's overrated as hell by the IWC, so he can say thanks for his two intercontinental champ runs. Mediocre in everything but micro.

Re: Why are they turning Barrett into a comedy character?

The booking of Wade Barrett is definitely questionable. Barrett has a pretty interesting character background but outside of his return vignettes the bare knuckle fighting shit is only mentioned off handedly as filler commentary. His offense doesn't even reflect this aspect of his character. Booking him as a cliche heel is just lazy imo.

I wouldn't call him a comedy character though. He's just a generic smug heel.
