Re: When did everyone start hating Cena SO much
The Cena hate started by back when he had the U.S Title and turned it into a spinner back in late 2004. Back in 2003, he was a favorite with the IWC, hell they wanted him to be pushed to the moon and once he did, they turned on him. To me, my gripe with Cena is that the WWE took away from him what made him successful in the first place. Before he became the top guy, he could trash talk with the best of him. He was aggressive. He would step up to the likes of Kurt Angle, the Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar. It felt very real. Someone in a post a few weeks ago brought up the night in 2005 when they showed Cena's right now video which portrayed him different than what his character was at the time. It's amazing how successful John has been, despite the fact that the WWE botched him so badly. His character is too bland, and he comes off as a phony. Yes it's ok that he does make a wish and salute the troops on his off time, but that's not what he's supposed to be on TV. His matches aren't that bad, but his character sucks, and who in the hell writes his promos? 6 days before the Rumble, he cuts a promo about Sunday, no no WWE, that's not how you showcase your top star. Stone Cold would never cut a promo like that. You damn well know the Rock or CM Punk would not either.
People complain about newer talent not getting over, but what they mean is that their favourite isn't getting over, everyone else can go to hell. I'm for as many people getting over as possible, it would improve the show and the more over people there are, the more avenues there are to push new talent, yes, your favourites are more likely to get pushed if there are more over people to feud with.
