- There has been a lot of internal talk about Dolph Ziggler's future lately.
As noted, officials have discussed breaking Big E Langston away from Ziggler and AJ Lee but it sounds like he might stay with AJ. They are discussing this not because of a possible Langston face turn but because of a Ziggler babyface turn.
Vince McMahon has been changing his mind back and forth on Ziggler as a babyface but it's more when and not if. A lot of people in the company feel that Ziggler will take off huge as a babyface when the call is made. The fact that Ziggler is already popular in the New York market is said to be influencing Vince's decision.
It's easier to go face to heel than the other way around, and he's far too popular right now to be a big heel. Del Rio, for example, was never over as a heel either, and he's doing tremendously as a face.
I do like Ziggler as a heel, but I still think he's more suited to being a heel, and I think the AJ/Ziggler partnership has a lot more in it.
I fear they'll turn him into another John Morrison though. Suddenly turn him face, strip him of any character, not give him any mic time and try to rely on ring work alone to make him popular with the crowd.

Live show reports tend to tell us that Ziggler is in fact over. He does get heat. Trying to rely on ring work alone really never works, especially if the crowd have nothing or no reason to get behind a face and without mic time to try to get a character over they really don't have much of a reason to cheer or give any reaction.
A generic heel is always better than a generic face. You can at least determine that Ziggler is cocky, confident, he shows off, he takes short cuts etc. A face without any characteristics...you can only really describe him as being a 'good guy', it's far more easy to get cheat heel heat than try to get the crowd to cheer you.
he works already as a babyface anyway, he will be good underdog babyface... but i just don't understand why they want to keep aj with him, she can help him get some heat, but ziggler can get face pops by himself
If they're gonna do it they better do it right. Don't do an ADR and just have him randomly be a nicer person. He has the MITB briefcase - a huge start would be for him to not take a cheap victory with it. Let him be only the second guy to give his opponent pre-warning and WIN.
This doesn't make much sense to do against Alberto right enough, which again makes me question their decision to put the title on him when Ziggler's lying in wait (it makes sense if Ziggler stays heel but not if he turns).
What you ideally want is a huge heel (Big Show would have been perfect lol), dominant champion, no one can take the title off him... come to think of it, the whole ADR thing is exactly what Ziggler should have done with MitB lol.
Also, if he goes face, get him the FUCK away from AJ. That trick is turning far too frequently.
Hmm if they turn Dolph face i am starting to wonder if they will use Kaitlyn to help turn him face Dolph would turn face by being/Flirting with the Divas champion an it would add to the Kaitlyn/AJ tension an would make AJ want to take the title off Kaitlyn even more plus Dolph an Kaitlyn have history together if people rember NXT an her first few months on smackdown when she debuted.
I said when Ziggler/AJ Lee first formed that I wouldn't be surprised to see this turn into a love triangle with Kailtyn. They might do that now if Ziggler is turning soon. And Ziggler/Kaitlyn having some history adds to it.
As long as they don't turn Ziggler into Cena like they did with Sheamus, Punk and Miz... I'm intrigued. Ziggler's played a heel throughout and it's never really gotten him anywhere. A face turn might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Worked for ADR, why not give it a try? It's not like he's got much momentum/heat to kill.
Ziggler's face turn should have happened before WWE turned The Miz or Del Rio. Right now, they have two failed face turns (although Del Rio's is doing better in crowd reactions than The Miz) and it might impact whether or not they decide to try a third. That being said, Ziggler will be a more popular and effective face than The Miz and Del Rio combined. So even though he's a great heel, he'll be an even better face.
Also, WWE needs to start building up their heels. They have CM Punk and that's about it. Big Show is really in the main event because of necessity. Cesaro, Barrett, and Sandow are all natural (and should be career) heels and they aren't near the level yet of being a top heel (they will get there with a lot more build). Orton needs to turn, but even then, they will be short heels to support the likes of Ryback, Cena, The Miz, Del Rio, Sheamus, and now potentially Ziggler.
The thing is Ziggler can turn face without any character adjustement. He can still show off and have the same mannerismes. He just needs to be nice instead of not being nice.
YES! Just book him against heels, and have him win matches clean. He's already too flashy for a heel. Dropkicks and beautiful DDT's (I think he starts from higher up than others, not sure), AND he's a small guy? The dude was born to be an anti-hero. I honestly think Ziggler and Dean Ambrose will be the big stars of the next ten yrs, and they would have a perfect face/heel setup.
Maybe in the next year but at this moment no especially since they've invested time into him. Whether or not they made good use of that time has become debatable in the last couple weeks but they have invested time into him.
For some reason I keep seeing a Dolph Ziggler/Alberto Del Rio feud for the World title post-Wrestlemania. I really think this feud could work. It would for one be a fresh match up,especially compared to Sheamus vs. Randy Orton. If you're looking to do a double turn and I think it's kinda late to plant seeds now on the road to Wrestlemania. Have Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler with the double turn involved.
Not saying he couldn't be a babyface in fact I think Ziggler would phenomonal as creative doesn't strip away Dolph Ziggler from Dolph Ziggler. But I think if they were planning for a Ziggler face turn,They should've been planted months ago.
guess they just turned AJ Lee heel and just brought Langston in as a heel they feel to separate them and be more unpredictable is to turn Ziggler baby-face.
Big E w/ AJ Lee vs Ziggler feud is inevitable if tey go this route
This guy, jesus. He changes his mind on everything. No wonder the shows are hit and miss. He's probably changing the scripts and outcome of matches as the wrestlers entrance music is playing.
So Ziggler will be the face underdog who still loses. I guess Vince sees him selling more merch if he loses as a good guy, but his career won't get any better.
this year he won the MitB, retired jerich, became the sole survivor after pinning orton clean and beat cena in a ladder match, they are not excatly jobbing him out, yeah this two weeks were bad for him, but still...
Right now, a problem with the product is that there are no "edgy" or "adult" babyfaces. Maybe Del Rio can be. But the rest are just so bland and milquetoast. Cena, Sheamus, Miz, etc just do not appeal to the adult audience. Punk turning heel left a void and if Orton turns, as many believe, that will be one less face that isn't making dumb jokes. Ziggler can play that babyface/tweener role, because he's so arrogant, on the mike and in the ring.
He needs to turn...he should have turned last year.
