- Ric Flair is currently booked for the January 21st WWE RAW from San Jose, California and the January 22nd SmackDown tapings in Sacramento. The Rock is also booked for those two shows. Flair will leave for All Japan Pro Wrestling right after the SmackDown tapings.
Flair is still working on a per-night deal with WWE but could be signing something more solid soon. Believe it or not, TNA has sent feelers to Flair about coming back to their company and apparently they have been doing this since before their lawsuit against WWE was dropped this week.
Regarding Flair's segment with The Miz on Monday's RAW, it was designed to endorse Miz as a new babyface and to set up Miz using the Figure Four as his new finishing move. When he found out, Flair joked to Miz, "I hope they let you beat people with it because I never did."
Flair will likely be working with Miz again at next week's WWE TV tapings.
It could work and Flair could work as a full timer managing young up and comers, so long as they realised Monday's segment was terrible and must do better in future.
No he's not it's the fault of creative and writers. Miz was in the ME With Rocky and Cena two years ago. Then disappears and jobs for some time. Disappears some more and suddenly became a face with no backstory attached.
How the fuck is that a good turn ? Don't blame Miz for not being used to being a face. Give him some time and a good feud to get over. He can talk he just needs a little better material.
I'd much prefer that Flair "passed the torch" to someone... better.
I don't like the idea of the Miz using the figure four, at all, and I don't like the idea of Slick Ric endorsing someone who's delivery is so forced and who's wrestling is so mediocre. [/rant] :side:
Flair right now is hilarious, but kind of in a bad way. He's obviously in it for the paycheck, but he's been very off the cuff, which is funny. However, it veers into turning the segment into a joke. And Miz is not a good babyface right now. Maybe this will help. But I doubt it.
I don't care what people on this forum say, in fact i'm not surprised 80% of the forum said The Miz/flair segment was awful and I even expected the thread. These things make me very happy because 80% of the forum are also idiots who basically know very little about the wrestling business (I'm not saying this is the reason you disliked the segment its just my opinion). With all this being said, I enjoyed the Miz/Flair segment on Raw and was actually one of the highlights of what was a very shit Raw imo. I'm also glad they are giving The Miz the figure four leg lock, he could do with a submission finisher to back up the SCF with. I don't think The Miz's face turn has been perfect by any stretch of the imigination but he is getting reasonable reactions so he must be doing something right, just stick him in a decent feud and I can see The Miz being quite a good babyface (despite the fact I preferred him as a heel).
Although you didn't state shit for reason you think Miz is the posterboy of everything wrong, I think I can interpret:
A - You think Miz is a skinny, goofy fratboy. Well yes he does look like a fratboy, and he is skinny, but don't think that he isn't hard as nails as most wrestlers are. He's been in the business for years (2005?) and has taken bumps like everyone else and hasn't pussied out. Therefore his tolerance for pain is up there with most wrestlers, so just because he looks like a fratboy doesn't mean he's not worthy of being a wrestler. Plus he got hazed like hell from a much bigger man (JBL) and persevered and even won the WWE title.
B - Shawn Michaels was/is skinny too (though I'm not comparing talent here). Yes Miz is small, but that shouldn't be a reason to call him a disgrace.
C - His mic skills can be fantastic
Miz with the figure 4 just seems akward, he doesn't really seem like the technician type, then again, he doesn't really seem like any type lol, so maybe this will work out. I personally think the guy doesn't deserve to be on TV, but he does have some mic skills and can get the crowd somewhat into things, this whole angle may lead to something interesting.
