Possible angle for Tensai?

I can't say that I particularly enjoy all of his work recently, but I did think that his build was ok, a bit cheesy, but not bad. I don't mind vignettes because they're creative. However, it's no secret that the WWE screwed him up royally. However, I thought of something that could actually revamp his character a bit. Allow me to indulge you. In the recent weeks we have wondered who Damien Sandow was going to pick as his apprentice. Plenty of names have, and were suggested. Many of us had great ideas, and I like countless others feel as though Judas Devlin would likely be this "apprentice".

Now, even with Cody back that doesn't mean Sandow still isn't looking for an "apprentice". Miz made it a point to stir up some drama with Rhodes Scholars, and I think that this will eventually lead to this "apprentice" being Tensai. I say this because in Japanese Tensai means "genius",or "prodigy" depending on who you ask. However, with that being said I think he would actually be the perfect "apprentice" for Sandow, and even serve as a means of protection as well. This provides him with a chance at a character, as opposed to this brawler from Japan.

Give him a pair of glasses, and allow him to speak as if he is lecturing similar to Sandow's way of speaking. Make the man sound like a genius, and give him the script to do so. Damien could say that Tensai's level of genius is nearly unmatched in the common world. Allow the creative team to make up accomplishments of when he was a child. Sandow says we just see the beast, while he saw the beauty of Tensai's genius mind. Right now there really is nothing to the character of Tensai, and I think this is a no brainer, no pun intended.

Re: Possible angle for Tensai?

He can play the role of AJ Lee, I'm sure it'll be more entertaining than the current incarnation.

I do have one question for anyone who might feel that Dwayne Johnson "owes" the business. Is it just him, or is it anyone who moved on to other things? Should Luna Vachon get heat for running a towing company instead of working on RAW? Should Maven be critiqued on his Home Shopping Network bits instead of wrestling?

Or is it only the ones who go on to highly visible careers in movies that owe something? Why do Johnson (who left after putting people over, doing the traditionally "right thing") and Lesnar (who did not; except for making Eddie a legitimate star) get called sell-outs who "forgot where they came from" when someone who retires to do some regular job get credit (as they should) for moving on and making it without falling into a sea of addiction?

after he lost against Santino, Ryder, Gabriel, Kidd, etc. he has no place in any storyline anymore.

Re: Possible angle for Tensai?

He should cut a worked-shoot promo where he would say that he is sick of all these gimmicks, that he is not A-Train, not Giant Bernard, not Tensai. He is just Matt Bloom. Something like Goldust's promo as Seven in WCW.

I love it. It'll give Bloom a real chance to do something. While playing a nerd sounds hilarious, anything's better than being a guy pretending to be some Asian stereotype. Though until Monday, I thought Brad Maddox was gonna end up being Sandow's apprentice. Those two could have been great together.

Re: Possible angle for Tensai?

Not sure on the gimmick, in my opinion Tensai is a lost cause right now.

If he was brought back to the WWE as a mid carder with a stable gimmick, then it would all be OK. But he wasn't, he came back with this silly chinese gimmick, he was pushed to the moon, he even beat CENA.

Then of course the de-push started and he ended up jobbing.

Just like so many rushed superstars, just proves that a slow build up always comes out on top. Like Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett and Cesaro seem to be getting right now.
