Re: How long can a Ziggler WHC reign be?
It sounds like a cop-out, but really, it depends on the time of year. I don't think Ziggler is anywhere near ready for a World Championship reign. They've jobbed him out so much and he has so little momentum, his character is still lacking in development, he's still with Vickie (and they recently went nuts with that and made it seem like he needs her to be around for him to do anything, like she's his power source or something), there's just a laundry list of problems with him at the moment. Of course, that means he'll probably be given the championship any week now.
If DoubleDeckerBar is correct, Ziggler would be the wintertime champion from late October to Elimination Chamber, to get his reign in, but he wouldn't carry it to Wrestlemania, because they can set up a bigger match in Sheamus/Orton. I also like the theory that with Sheamus making such a big deal out of Big Show's humiliatingly short World Heavyweight Championship "reign" last December, the tabled might be turned (although at the end of a rather long reign for Sheamus, but still) with Ziggler cashing in on Sheamus after Show knocks him out once Sheamus has won the match. That would make some sense.
If Pyro is right, they can wait a little while (the hints of him taking the championship via cash-in at Hell in a Cell might be a red herring/misdirection play) and let Ziggler pick the championship up at TLC and follow the Daniel Bryan model and let him be champion for just shy of four months from TLC to Wrestlemania for the "pet project" in Ryback as Sheamus was last year.
I'd say anywhere between 2-4 months is the most realistic scenario. I doubt they'd "squander" Money in the Bank by giving Ziggler a reign that lasts for less than two months but unless he cashes in post-Wrestlemania next spring or summer, let's say, which is sort of more of the WWE's "unofficial offseason," I can't see him receiving a marathon reign.
